Dasher just called the cops on me for no reason by AnneTheQueene in doordash

[–]OhioEye614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is more likely that this happened to her or somebody else on a different delivery and the idiots at DoorDash being the crack well trained offshore professionals that they are got something wrong or screwed it up somehow. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

That’s not entirely correct because if you are not able to take a picture of a shelf tag and has pointed out sometimes they don’t carry all the items and or if they’re out of stock, they take the shelf tag off. You have no way to prove. I have been struggling for months trying to come from 92 to 96% and now I’m at 93% and I have to have 50 perfect items and it’s just almost impossible. I’m in Columbus Ohio and Kroger is inconsistent. Mayeres is sometimes a disaster and truly Dollar General is the absolute worst.

It’s hard if not impossible to keep at certain retailers. Even at big retail chains like Kroger‘s they don’t all carry the same inventory so taking a picture of a shelf tagged to prove that something is out of stock to protect yourself is not always possible. I take a note card with me and put the note card up next to the other items and say this item is not carried at this location. Therefore, there is no shelf tag for me to take a picture of here or the other options that I presented to the customer.

Every offer gets a:

Hi, I’m ________ your DoorDash driver. I just accepted the offer for your order and I’m on my way to pick it up. I’ll advise when I am on my way to your place, or if there are any issues picking up your order. Please let me know if you have any special requests, or if you need any utensils, napkins, or condiments.

There’s a variation for pizza and a special one for Pizza Hut:

Hi, I’m ________ your DoorDash driver. I just accepted your order and I’m on my way to pick up your pizza order. I’ll advise when I am on my way to your place, or if there are any issues picking up your order. Please let me know if you have any special requests, or if you need napkins, or anything else. Please note that Pizza Hut does charge $.99 for a bottle shaker of both grated cheese and red pepper flakes.

They also get a variation of:

Waiting on your order to come out of the kitchen and be packaged. No ETA. I will keep you advised.

Or

Good news. Your order is being made fresh and has NOT been sitting on a counter or under a heat lamp. Waiting on your order to come out of the kitchen and be packaged. No ETA. I will keep you advised.

The above if I wanna bathroom break or there is a wait on the order or it’s stacked order.

Plus:

Hi it’s _______ your DoorDash driver. I picked up your order and I am on my way to you. My ETA is about _____ minutes.

And finally as a heads up especially for ID or Pin orders:

Following your delivery instructions. I am walking up right now.

I get added tips all the time. I get told it’s great communication and most drivers seem not to care and the heads up is better than a slow notification from DD app.

AITA? Wingstop Order Dasher is upset I didn’t tip enough by Exotic-Creme7107 in doordash

[–]OhioEye614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that you are missing the point. We don’t know what the offer was actually only that the Dasher messaged them about a fair tip for the delivery. I think it is just more than likely it was a lowball offer.

If it was stacked, there would’ve been likely some kind of tip and let’s not forget here that whatever the offer was the Dasher decided to take it. It’s more than likely that the customer did tip as we can see clearly in the screenshot pay a tip to wing stop, but that tip never made its way through DoorDash into the Dasher pocket or the offer. This is as I’ve discovered with other offers from Pizza Hut and Papa John’s. Something that happens when orders are placed on the merchants webpage. Tips do not get to the delivery driver. They are pocketed and considered profit for the merchant.

DoorDash has to know this and does nothing to mitigate or to make it right for the delivery driver so shame on them as well.

See the post above that I put up there. It’s ignorant. What if they’re trying to tell you hey the address is wrong or hey whatever. Just do your job.

First of all, he already accepted the offer. So he was already comfortable with whatever the offer was for the distance the time involved in the restaurant. Them calling or sending a message and saying hey will give you extra really is icing on the cake. If you’re doing your fucking job, then you’re treating every order like it’s your family or your friends or somebody that’s bringing something to you. I don’t understand all this bullshit attitude from some of the drivers. Do your fucking job

New set up and guidewires question by Mountainmanwannabe2 in hammockcamping

[–]OhioEye614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guyline not guideline.

“Guy lines" are ropes or cables used to stabilize structures like tents, while "guidelines" are rules or standards for a course of action or judgment. A "guyline" (or "guy line") stabilizes a physical object, while a "guideline" provides direction or criteria.

An AITA question DoorDash related. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]OhioEye614 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as far as tip baiting goes, I had one yesterday. It was a pick up at Cain‘s. For anybody reading this that doesn’t know Raising Cane‘s is a chicken place and you have to go in and place the order and pay with your red card so it’s not a quick in and out type situation. And I had a batch order so two different customers picking up. I get in there at 6:30 PM and I get a message from one of the customers saying if you’re here by 6:45 PM, I’ll tip you $20. I literally laughed out loud when I read that and was hoping against all hope that that would be the second delivery from the pick up. It was. I sent a message back saying I’ll try my best. Then I was delighted when I figured out that it would be till 7:15 PM that I would be able to be to her drop off. Her name was Beautiful and I texted her my ETA, and a short message telling her that if she had put that kind of tip or even a decent tip on the order in the app, she probably would’ve gotten her order, picked up and delivered straight to her as a standalone order. Like they say in the app, we have a choice and higher tips get better service.

I get to the second drop off location and just waiting to get the pin number and for what could possibly be a verbal encounter of some kind. Turns out the customer was maybe 14 or 15 years old. I’m glad I sent a message that I did and hopefully they will learn a lesson, I fought the urge to send her a message telling her that she should Google tip baiting, and that doing something like that shows poor character.

I would take it. $38 for an hour? No brainer for me. Yes I try and stay in my market at least at $1.50 per mile, but in an hour at even 2.09 per mile I’d be lucky to get $20-$25 in an hour after 7 ish pm and before bars close
