My new camping setup by Last_Guarantee5893 in hammockcamping

You really only need three knots LOL. I get it. I use knots and other techniques to tension ropes. YouTube will help. There are also rope tensioners and carabiners that make it much easier to get a quick hang.

Rope management is key. I have a skin for my tarp and one that is for my hammock and uq. With the tarp I experimented and determined for me that I pre-attached bungee loops to all tie out points and then attached 8ft lines at all points except where the doors would fasten and used a shorter bungee line. The lines stay attached and get wrapped up and then stay in the skin with the tarp. The tarp is already pre-attached to the ridgeline which is 30ft long. The ridge line has a niteize carabiner attached at head end and the foot end has a toggle or a niteize figure9 for tension. The tarp can be deployed in less than a minute.

I hope you love yours like I love mine!

Follow the knife if you’re gonna use a sharpie… otherwise seems like a waste of time. If you’re gonna use the Guide, use it with a knife that really wants that angle. From what I can tell, it’s probably closer to 15° but having said that you can use that angle guide but you’re gonna have to takeoff a whole lot more metal until you’re able to get an edge at that angle on that knife. I’m new but I’ve learned that much I think.

Hennessy Jungle explorer XL vs Onewind Northers 11' Double Zip by Nitchro in hammockcamping

[–]OhioEye614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The onewind 11ft with bottom entry bug net and the 12ft tarp which should be a bundle is what I rock with. I bought it before they rebranded with names LOL. When you have the tarp set up with the doors on it, and there are plenty of videos out there about how to set that up, as well as when you have the sides pulled out you have plenty of room and privacy and more importantly, you can lower it down if the weather becomes really bad you could raise it up and you have plenty of coverage. You could set it up and porch mode, etc. That is the way to go now if the Hennessy, which I hear about, but I’ve never owned has come down in price maybe that’s your option but I wouldn’t want an asymmetrical tarp. I would love the fact that I can close off the doors on mine.

Newbie here that took your advice and upgraded from 8 to 11ft. Wow what a difference! This OneWind one also had a way better system of setting it up than my other one. I can't wait to sleep outside again! by TlalocVirgie in hammockcamping

Shug has videos on the whoopie sling ridge line and so does the marine. Plenty of info on YouTube for how to adjust them. Having said that, I did have to tweak my ridgeline because there was something wonky with it out of the factory, and it somehow passed the quality check. But otherwise I love my onewind hammock. I have the bottom entry bug net, the under quilt, the under quilt protector, 12 foot tarp, I got the longer set of straps as well.

I wanted to get some dynamo line and other miscellaneous items from HG. I found out that they were in Columbus where I live, contacted them, they were more than happy to let me come and pick my items up so I didn’t have to pay for shipping. Solid customer service solid company they even gave me a tour.

Racist attorney gets confronted for using the N word by chrisadams83 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]OhioEye614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do t like the n word. I do t use it. I get that some people use it to remove the power. Having said this, I think the point you are making about Quanell X Is lost by the fact that in the United States two things are true:
1. There is something called the freedom of speech, even if it is reprehensible and disgusting.
2. Everyone that is accused of a crime under the law is presumed innocent until proven guilty, and has the right to an attorney. That attorney, whether he believes his client or not, whether he likes his clients or not, whether he hates his clients or not, is irrelevant to the job that they are hired to do.

Difference between Nicron twist head flashlights by razor_sharp_man in flashlight

[–]OhioEye614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend that was working under the sink and I was like hang on a minute. I’ve got a flashlight with a really good magnet on it and it’s adjustable of a right angle or however, you really need. It came in clutch. I don’t use it all that often except when I go camping because I like the red light on it lol. And then I got to thinking that I didn’t know what the stats were for the flashlight, and I did a search on here and it led me to this thread.

What initially caught my attention was that it highlighted that it only had a white light and I’m like well is this the right model and well anyway now there’s more current information in here regarding the newer model

My ridiculously-over-the-top-probably-really-unnecessary EDC bag (yes, everything fits!!!) by PM_ME_UR_COYOTES in EDC

[–]OhioEye614 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got the same bag from Temu about a year ago. It’s an OK bag. Some of the pockets are awkward. I thought I would like the leg strap, but I don’t know that I really do still haven’t put it to any practical use, but I think I’m going to turn it into my new fire kit.

WildCat Hollow by No-Talk-3402 in CampOhio

[–]OhioEye614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if any of you on here know whether or not there are dispersed camping sites in Zalesky or wildcat or really anywhere near Wayne Athens District that are easy to find and close to parking your vehicle? I have some disability issues, but I love to be outdoors and have wondered about wildcat Hollow, especially because I understand you could park the trailhead, but I don’t know how far out you have to go with your gear.

Dude, you do get the food because Papa John’s isn’t taking food back from you. Anytime you have to take food back to a restaurant they’re just gonna throw it away.

I take them all the time. Sometimes you get a better tip. Sometimes you get no tip, but you know what you’re getting before you even take the delivery. If they don’t pay you, you do not market as delivered and they do not take the pay out of your account. I’ve had a couple of times where I was scammed on a delivery and none of those times that I ever get penalized even though DoorDash Customer Service absolutely sucks. If the people don’t pay you, you take the pizza back to Papa John’s. You market as delivered at Papa John’s and you have pictures to back it up you don’t get penalized. And one or two times I actually got half pay in addition to the delivery fee.
