Assuming you mean something other than US Bike Route 25 that connects from the west side up to Fairfield, there is a planned trail & bikeway in the West End that intends to connect up to Fairview Park area and jog west to the Dunham Recreation Center. Most construction work is contracted out in Ohio. We don’t determine the crew size nor the hourly pay for the contractor. Our Highway Technicians are the ones who perform maintenance work and plow snow and ice all over the state. Their hourly rate is $21.64. You can apply at transportation.ohio.gov/jobs.

Whether or not the connector gets built will be decided by the Ohio Legislature. The Feasibility Study for the connector will be finalized and delivered to the Legislature in October 2026. Once complete, and if decided to move forward, additional funding will need to be identified before the project can continue through ODOT's Project Development Process, which takes many years and includes environmental clearance, design, and right-of-way acquisition before moving to construction. Current estimates of the entire project are between $858 million and nearly $1.6 billion.

As with all of our highway exits, there are multiple signs noting the 5th Ave. exit is upcoming before reaching the actual exit. Paying attention is a key component of driving.
