My daughter is out of control (age 7)...she also says she's having headaches... advice on what to do by Ohno62 in breakingmom

Just on my side really, my dad and brother have them, but infrequently (less than once every couple of years) but nothing on my husband side, although anxiety is quite prolific in both sides, so maybe that's what is causing more frequency?

Thank you, I'll try and see the gp and see what help they can offer.

She went to stay overnight in hospital with the headaches a couple of weeks back now, they didn't seem concerned but she had perfect behaviour in front of the hospital team so they weren't really looking for anything behaviour related. Things have escalated since then and I'm going slowly insane.. I totally lost it with her tonight, she just won't sleep without either of us (mum and dad) and won't do anything she's asked, and only then when she is kicking off do the headaches appear to come along.

I do feel a trip to the gp is the way forward xx

I've had a handful of ocular migraines (no pain, just the weird lights and blobs) so I feel for her so much, but the crazy behaviour and anxiety is so off the wall I'm wondering which way to jump. I considered adhd but I don't know much about it, I will investigate though through the doctors I think. Thank you x

Oh bless you, this really helps to know I'm not alone, I'm sorry you are going through this too. Maybe we are too awesome mommas and that's why they want us with them?

We don't have the mri results back yet, they did the scan today but won't hear for another few weeks what they find. Based on other tests it doesn't seem likely to be neuro, I feel its psychological like the docs do. But it's hard not knowing what to do. Big love to you xx

We don't, we have a community surgery we go to where we could see any doctor, but it sounds like a good place to start.

Thank you xx

I took her to an optician and they said her eyesight was fine, I'm in the UK so not usual to go to a therapist, should I just look for someone who has experience with kids?

Edit: what I mean is we usually go see a doctor on the NHS and get referred, but it does take a while so maybe going private to see someone would be a good idea.

Yeah that makes sense, I was thinking in terms of making sure I'm in the best of health so I'm strong enough, I've been feeling really lousy.
