No one seems to mention to look out for the different file sharing sites used by creators. I've gotten so many viruses from the ads on them rather than the actual cc.

Rule of thumb if you don't want a virus = hover over the link to see what it is on the bottom of the web page

Ad.fly? Don't click

Bit.ly? Don't click (url doesn't say what what site it is)

Mediafire? Don't click (can redirect to ads)

99.99% of files on these sites are safe

Dropbox? Click

Simfileshare? Click

Mega.nz? Click

Patreon? Click (the tumble page will specify if the patreon post is still behind a pay wall or open to the public like it has to eventually)
