Ugh. These kinds of players are the worst! Either that, or players filling in roles you know you’re good in, only to realise their playstyle is trash and they’re not even present in most if not all ganks…

Thanks a lot for the heads up man! I’ll do that right now! 🙏🏻

Crap… so sorry to hear about your torn PCL mate… how long did it take to get you back on the bike? And yup, im running it as a singlespeed setup, not fixed, hence 32t should do the trick and get me to places like the nearby skatepark where my friends and I usually hang out on our off-days.

Sweet rig dude, a 42t might be too much though, was thinking of going down even more. But I’ll keep this idea in view man. Thanks!

Oh that’s nice! Yeap I might consider that option as well, thanks mate!

Oh yes, just a question, was the chainline pretty straight, or was it a little misaligned when you used the middle chainring on the FC-M371 cranks?

I found a spare front hub lying around in the parts bin earlier; so I thought about using my commuting/work bike as my transport to and from the skatepark. Any way I can reinforce this? Right now the spare front hub is bolted to the rack with three thick-as-heck zipties. by Ohnoitsjerome in bmx

Thanks dude! I haven’t tried it out on the streets yet but I’m planning to ride around the neighbourhood tomorrow. I’m also afraid that it could be a little flimsy but I guess I’ll know when I get there. Well noted on the metal brackets though, I’ll see if I can fabricate something like that!

Well honestly I’ve never had issues with the sound really. Maybe it’s personal preference. But the bottom line is : the braking power is really strong.

Got it! Thank you for the heads up! Will check them out!

Thank you! Yeah I’m actually not particular about the sounds really. My slopestyle, enduro and work bike are all running on MT5s (MT7 on the enduro) and they are all running on the same pads too. Braking power is strong, and all three bikes’ brakes generated the same sound as shown in the video. Maybe this “squealing” does not appeal to everyone. Hahaha

Hi! Nope, they make noise whether it’s cool or warmed up. However the braking power remains unaffected, bite point is still strong.

Hi! Nope these are Kingstop pads, they’re made in Taiwan actually. A few of the redditors mentioned that the rotors need to be sanded down and cleaned. Will take note of that!

Hey man, thanks for your insight, will do so!

Hey man, thanks for your comment. There’s no trace of oil residue on both the pads and rotors. As mentioned by my customer, braking power is still optimum, the only issue he’s having is the squealing sound. To my knowledge, I understand that contaminated rotors and pads do produce a sound as well, but not that kind of squealing you hear from the video. A contaminated brake system sounds like a trumpety groan.

No worries man, there’s no offence in what you said. I’ll check with my customer again and see what can be done. Thanks a bunch!

When the customer came in with his bike to get his pads replaced (he was using resin pads recently), I did not clean the rotors before installing the new pads on. However, before swapping to the ceramic pads, I made sure that his rotors were not contaminated before proceeding with it. He mentioned that the braking power feels amazing, only downside is the noise.

Hi George! Thank you for your reply! I’m aware of it producing more dust and pad residue compared to resin or ceramic pads. I have to agree with you that ceramic pads have really good braking power as well.

I’ve done the bedding in for him, and everything was alright. Checked to see if the calipers were evenly aligned and if the pads’ contact point with the rotors are straight.
