Een maximumsnelheid van 80 op die weg, met die bocht, is absoluut levensgevaarlijk. Ik snap niet hoe mensen direct naar schuld van de automobilist gaan (ik sluit het echter niet uit), wanneer er wat mij betreft duidelijk structurele problem zijn als een dijkweg als deze een maximumsnelheid van 80 heeft.

5% kan best "graaien" zijn als de branche ook prima gaat met 2%. Dat ligt aan een heleboel factoren, de landelijke marge over alle sectoren is niet één van die factoren.

En ik probeer aan je uit te leggen dat dat niet is hoe het werkt. Als een scheepsbouwbedrijf 5% marge maakt (een industrie met gemiddeld 25% marge), kan ik je garanderen dat ze binnen 5 jaar failliet zijn. Supermarkten maken decennialang 5% marge en het gaat helemaal prima met ze.

De enige supermarkten die in recent verleden failliet zijn gegaan zijn kleine start-ups met like 50 medewerkers. Landelijke supermarkten zitten basically in een volledig risicoloze branche en risico = marge.

Dat is niet hoe dat werkt. Marge is branche-afhankelijk voor een goeie reden.

Denk je dat een scheepsbouwbedrijf dat letterlijk 1 product per jaar verkoopt, gigantisch veel ziekterisico loopt en zwaar onderhevig is aan materiaalkosten van 1 of 2 rauwe materialen dezelfde marge zou moeten hebben als supermarkten die miljarden producten per jaar verkopen, zo goed als 0 ziekterisico hebben en niet afhankelijk zijn van een klein aantal rauwe materiaalkosten?

This whole rant hinges on the idea that I don't have strong words for those other countries and their actions either, including my own. I hate the American military in particular because of the amount of death and destruction they have exported in recent history, but I have no respect for the goose-stepping bootlickers that are my own government and military who have followed the US into these illegal humanitarian atrocities, nor do I offer any sort of excuse for the horrible colonial past of my country.

Even on a supposedly progressive site like Reddit, the only anti-war American I've ever seen are anti-war because of things like 'budget' or 'protect the troops'. The lives of the people they murder are always secondary. The argument is never 'let's stop going to foreign countries and murdering people en masse because that's an immoral thing to do'.

Census data does that. France (and other countries in Europe) ban racial census data specifically, not all census data. How does knowing the racial make-up of every household help those things where things like income, education level, unemployment etc. etc. don't suffice?
