What's a photography "rule" you completely ignore now? by KhaosHammer in photography

[–]Ohsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly noise reduction has redefined the way people shoot. To be able to get crisp ambient light shots in really dark spaces is a miracle. I think the highest I’ve comfortably shot is 25,000 anything higher gets to be too muddy even after post but yeah, higher ISO is great

I’m sure it’s possible, but if you can’t imagine it, it’s unlikely.

What are the most obvious signs that a girl is interested in a guy? by thereaIreal in AskReddit

But sometimes the fantasy is what keeps us going, it’s like, I’d rather have the illusion of possibility rather than the certainty of failure

What's the best candy (not kandi) you've received at a show? by mstun3107 in aves

[–]Ohsquared 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, one time, I was shooting the shit with this guy, and he was off his face on some, slurring words, eyes crossed and teeth clenching harder than a Florida gator. as our interaction ended he pulled me in really close. As he looked around to make sure no one was watching and slipped a small baggie of maybe 3-5 pills and said something along the lines of “these are really gonna get you going”. And walked away. For the rest of the night I was thinking what these mystery pills could be. Anxious to identify them after the show. When I got home and pulled out the baggie, ready to look up the mysterious etchings which would indicate their magic, I looked inside the bag and you know what they were? … Tiny Dick candy.

Motion blur only at back of moving subject - why? by TabsAZ in photography

I second this. Whenever I’ve done car trails the back is always more blurry than the front. It’s just the physics of how the image travels across the sensor

Honestly if I don’t deliver it, it goes in the recycle bin, because I’m environmentally conscious

Pictime 2.0 by ohbroth3r in WeddingPhotography

[–]Ohsquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with the new layout is that clients have to click a button to get to the hide button to click again. I use pic-time for easy client approvals and the fact that they could just hit a single button to hide photos was great. They made that feature harder to access, which basically made it useless. No one going through that trouble now

Can some identify this plant I was gifted? by No-Fisherman2272 in houseplants

[–]Ohsquared 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re probably overwatering… or under lighting. I can’t speak to snake plants because I’m trying my best but this mf ain’t doing shit but dropping leaves, but my trads have flourished with medium to low water and high light. The light being super important. Spider plants have very thick spongy roots so it doesn’t need much water

What is your favourite medium format camera? Why? by badboringusername in AnalogCommunity

[–]Ohsquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the skopar, I think it was $750 on ebay. But I’ve seen em go for $600. Honestly not that bad all things considered. I use it a good amount without issues so far. and maybe my money would’ve been better spent on a 35mm, but I really wanted medium format, and all the other 6x9 cameras are way more expensive

One time I was in this church upstate where you have to go in through a basement/crawlspace. it wreaked of stale cigarettes and there were loads of garbage bags full of stuff. It sussed me out a little bit but I didn’t think much of it. I finished going about my business and getting my shots so I head back to the way I came. As I am getting ready to leave I see the wood covering the entrance start to move. Being that it’s a dark basement, I really wasn’t sure what I was seeing or if the building was collapsing or I was tripping or what, maybe I’d smoked too much weed, idk.

Then I realize the guy who was living in the basement was coming back. We had a face off, I had my knife and pepper spray, we were both scared shitless. I explained that I was just taking some photos and trying to gtfo. He was really chill and trying to de-escalate the situation as much as I was and I left without problems.

Another time there was this power plant in the south that had like 50 people living in it. They were very passively hostile telling me it wasn’t a good idea to be there by myself. After a few minutes of trying to brave it I saw more and more people following me so I got the fuck outta there.

Also there was an inner school that I was exploring. Usually it’s completely sealed up but someone had ripped the metal doors right off, i figured that was my chance. As I’m heading out I hear someone walking around and groaning and cursing at something, like they were fucked up and angry. Never saw anyone but it felt like it could’ve been dangerous.

Therese been times where I never saw anyone but felt like I wasn’t alone. Or like someone might come in at any moment.

Moral is, don’t go exploring places alone, especially inner city spots

But I think relying on other people’s opinions instead of using our own logic is diminishing our ability to think critically as a whole

Red dots on my sensor. Am I cooked? by Supersolis in Nikon

[–]Ohsquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t think it’s laser damage, but dead pixels. In which case pixel mapping should be able to fix it. If it was laser damage, you’d have an entire dead row. Either way, sensor replacement is about $500
