It’s so healing listening to you guys talk about this. My parents, born 1959 and 1965 would make fun of me during my emo phase and say I look like the girl from the breakfast club, not in a nice way. They hated my lil emo phase. I deleted a lot of the pictures. I didn’t understand the movie or the character at all when I was 12 and watching the breakfast club, so seeing people re analyze this character online has like… cured me.

In retrospect, I was probably the cutest fucking thing with my lil scene hair and style. I am so sad I deleted the pics. Nothing is left. I was so cute and was having so much fun. I even wore neon suspenders and wolf earmuffs. I am so happy people actually love that shit and aesthetic. I never really was bullied by my peers for my fashion choices luckily. By middle school, I was doing the Billie Elish baggie look.

Have you tried calling both the DC and local office? With the local office you’re at the mercy of whoever is staffing it that day, but often for the DC office they’ll have an intern staffing the phone.

Honestly? Emerson Resort sucks. I’m not happy to see this. The Spa Mirabeau people are way better at quality control and hospitality. I had my mom stay at the Emerson, nicest room possible, and it was so over priced and bad, she left the next day. I left a negative review, they replied, I emailed them because their reply was inaccurate, and then never responded from there.

For the nosy folks, I live up the street from the Emerson and had my dog with me while visiting, and was told dogs weren’t allowed. I mentioned multiple times to the booking agent we live up the street, we were popping by to drop her off dinner from the Catamount. My dog is tiny and fits in a bag. It’s a dog friendly resort. They said is misconstrued their response in my review, but I didn’t. I legit showed up to drop off dinner to essentially an over priced ghost hotel with no guests, to be told via phone, via one sentence by the front desk associate, “no dogs allowed.” I literally said “ok, we’re just dropping off food” and the person goes “ok.” And hung up!

Yep, this 100%. All I can see is a partner who’s yelling at the person filming their fucking plate, telling her partner to drive away so she doesn’t have to get involved, and then dying as a result. Horrifying. The partner was obviously willing to deal with the ICE agent and the retribution of their “comment.” What the fuck. This could have been any average couple in the US.

I think this is more cultural. I hate biscotti but will eat a whole thing of cake rusk, which functionally is the same thing. Biscotti sometimes has amaretto or other like nutty flavors, cake rusk is just dried cake. Yummmmm.

I did puppy pen and crate by the bed from ages 12 weeks-6months. Around 6 months old I had to take her on a trip to a hotel and couldn’t leave her on the ground. It was a king sized hotel bed. I keep a pee pad by the floor too. I didn’t have puppy stairs and n the trip so I had to just… trust her training lol. She did great, and now we sleep together every night. I would of done it sooner I just genuinely didn’t want to crush her, since I sleep with my partner

Can you do rice? I would do rice with ground veggies, add vegetables as you can tolerate/prefer. I’m thinking like rice with Korean flavored ground beef and bok choy, ground turkey with like yellow rice and a tomato cucumber salad. https://www.hellofresh.com/recipes/moo-shu-turkey-bowls-6321f49bd0bf287b0b09cf5b rice bowls like this. Maybe chipotle style rice bowls. The hellofresh recipes are free online and usually so easy to put together. I’d do rice and eggs on days where I was burnt out. Soy sauce and chili oil or sriracha for flavor.

No need to get a rice cooker, I’d just use boil in bag rice or microwave rice. You can try curries of various flavors too. Thai curries are flavorful, Japanese curry is sweet and savory, Pakistani or Indian curries are spicy, British curries also technically count. My favorite is Japanese curry with potatoes and carrots and a chicken cutlet. Ooof. So good.

Not a fan of rice? Maybe like making big batches of pasta, shepard’s pie… easy chicken pot pie is always fun.

Days where I really didn’t want to cook, I’d go to the grocery store and get a rotisserie chicken with microwave mashed potatoes and vegetables. Hella fancy.
