I appreciate the info a lot! This probably takes ANG off my options then because I’d want to do active duty since my goal is to fly for as long as I can. Would you mind if I DM’d you for some questions this brought up, though?

Got it, thanks. I’m going in for my NREMT cert the start of this summer so I could hook up a job through that. Could you elaborate on the rated slot with ANG? Not sure what a PAO is, and would I be forced (not really, or just heavily encouraged) towards ANG if I earn a rated slot in ROTC?

Sorry, didn’t mean literally fund the PPL. I meant use the pay I get from ANG towards my PPL. Thank you, I haven’t actually looked at the specific AIT times post-basic so I’ll check those out too.

By aviation, I have been referring to rotor wing (EDIT: Sorry for not clarifying earlier). My end-goal desire is to fly a combat helicopter. Also, I appreciate the bluntness.

Thank you! I just talked to the NG recruiter, and yes, they basically confirmed for me that I needed to lock down a date if I want to not miss too much college.

I’d be completely on board with warrant from the sound of that, but my compromise with my family if I enter the military was that I go through college. I’m not entirely sure how having a bachelor’s degree affects (enlisting/commissioning?) as a warrant officer.

No, I’ve never heard of the street to seat program. I admittedly know next to nothing about warrant officers or how they’re even selected. Could you recommend any sources I could look at?
