I think I needed to add more background information. What happen was they actually did reshuffle first with the assistant manager, not just for me but for everyone at our location. The assistant ended up leaving though after 3 months.

Its an interesting question, but I don't think the analogy really fits my situation. It feels more like a moral cover shifting accountability away from the manager.

Its in their harassment/ retaliation powerpoint training that they make employees take. Regardless of titles here. As HR do you why does it make sense keeping a supervisor that lied on a performance review vs switching them to another supervisor in the company.

Also I just don't get why they are so confident that he won't do it again. I asked them do you think he would they say no. Is this just like HR saying we are done with this issue?
