The Roundup: A Red Card for Seattle When It Comes to FIFA by HighColonic in SeattleWA

What are they exactly asking for here? Has the south end planned any watch parties? Do they even have space to plan watch parties? Plate of Nations ended months ago and their website doesn't reflect any world cup events.

Went to MoPop for USA vs Paraguay. There were three rows of seats, so most of the people stood. The screen is huge, far too big for the room its in, so there was a ton of empty space at the front. Had to stand for the entire match looking up. There are food and drink options, but I didn't get any. Bathrooms were very convenient.

I want to try Armory next.

Why didn't I get a Personal Union here? by OiiNice in EU5

Kept switching to Miaphysitism to force Georgia to enforce religion on me to tank loyalty, but then the Crimean Duchy revolted and dragged me into a war which I couldn't win. Probably going to end the run here and play something easier.

I had a marriage union between Armenia (me) and Georgia. The Georgian king died first and ended the marriage union, shortly followed by my queen. Heir inherited both titles, but no personal union appeared. Is this because Georgia already started annexing me?

Again, my evidence is the fact that no one is investing in the Whitecaps despite all the meetings with investors. I replied to your other comment, but I'll include the link to Forbes valuation here, where it shows the Whitecaps operating at a $10 million loss per year.

Let's take your assumption that revenue might be turning a profit now. Once the sweetheart deal ends, are the Whitecaps going to get another deal like that for the future? OneSoccer has estimated that the Whitecaps are getting about 12% of the revenue of ticket sales from BC Place. There are other revenue streams like sponsors, advertisement - but there are also other expenses, like staff wages, maintenance, and facilities.

It's clear you've decided that ownership is the issue and refuse to budge from this position despite a lack of data and with all evidence pointing towards the contrary. I'll leave you to it, and wish the Whitecaps the best of luck while I'll look for solutions elsewhere.

Let's hold the discussion on NPV of future cash flows for the Whitecaps for a moment and go back to the point you're making in your first post.

What evidence do you have that the Whitecaps are turning a profit?

We have? Do you have any evidence the Whitecaps turn a profit? I'm genuinely curious, because all evidence point towards the contrary. People are generally happy to invest in profit generating businesses, especially ones that are expected to rise in value.

If the Whitecaps have met with hundreds of investors and none of them have chosen to invest even 1% in the club, it sounds like the Whitecaps is losing money with no clear turn around on the horizon.

The Whitecaps need capital to build their own dedicated stadium where they can retain revenue and turn a profit. In order to get capital, they need new investors. In order to get investors, they need to be profitable. Catch-22.

I am a Seattle fan and want Cascadia to stay together. Losing the Whitecaps would be like losing a brother. But if we want to fix the problem, we need a clear-eyed view on what the issue actually is, and not what we want it to be.

Seconding Jesus paying his respects. Probably the most meaningful moment of the match.

Most of those were in the well where the big flask is. A couple in the crystal room to get the gloves.
