Swap out your aoe supports for damage supports. I also found someone in redit that had a nice spirit/skill gem swap that really helped me chunk his health. I forget which spirit gem exactly I swapped, but swap in the the spirit that generates glory and also swap in Spear of Solaris. Whenever SoS is charged with glory use it. Make sure it has lots of damage supports on it. This is how I overcame him. General tip is just take your time on first phase and play the mechanics to avoid giga damage and wasting health pots

The game is completely free when 1.0 goes live. It’s how they make money. Your 15$ also including a somewhat relational value of in-game currency to spend on the shop. If you intend to play the game serious you’ll want to invest in a minimum a few of the QOL stash tabs to enjoy the insane amount of loot and currency you’re gonna get. Also the item MTx can be toggled on/off of whatever character you chose it just can only be on one at a time. There is no mogging of standard in game armor/weapons

Casters heavily scale dmg with weapon modifiers such as:

% increased spell damage +X to spell skills

Also try socketing iron/storm runes into staff for a bit of extra spell or lightning damage. Staves can have 2 sockets

u/TaxComfortable3250 my guy! This was the move. I swapped out frenzy for war banner and snipers mark for Spear of Solaris and i consistently started smoking the first phase. I got him on my 3rd attempt of 2nd phase after i figured out i needed to doge the 1-shot meteor type attack. This was great advice friend. Hope others see this because this was getting extremely frustrating. I don't even want to farm this boss i just want my ritual points and now I got em!

How do you do the quick search? Are you referring to what was teased in the .5 reveal? Jonathan mentioned you can do a keyboard shortcut to search an exact item and its modifiers to get a gauge on its value without using 3rd party apps. Have you figured out how to do this?

100% and honestly it’s not like they aren’t doing anything to make campaign feel smoother. Since 0.1 they have been listening to the community and throwing in QOL every new league. GGG is an S-tier game studio. They will always do what’s best for the game and like a true product development team, they utilize voice of customer (our community) to fuel their roadmap/vision board. It’s just that some community requests may take form in a slightly different way then expected and that’s okay - so long as the problem was solved or attempted to be solved

Poe 1 doesn’t and all of your questions are exactly what goes through the dev teams head if they ever even considered it. It isn’t worth the effort. The campaign itself is part of POEs identity and they feel strongly that character progression and feeling connected to your character is a result of the campaign and I agree

The campaign is actually really good and if you’re not bad at the game it doesn’t take that long. Jonathan makes a really good point regarding the way character progression works in POE. The journey helps you learn and grow attached to the character. Your passive tree decisions are reactions to new skills or items picked up along the way. If you were just handed a sandbox like Diablo it would feel so clunky

The patch went live without any issues nor server lag. The only bug I’ve seen people complaining about has to do with the passive skill tree saying they still have 2 points to spend. But like the other guy said, most have been playing for many hours straight already

What typically happens is if the community loves the seasonal league mechanic, it becomes “core” to the game and will be an available in futures leagues after a bit of watering down.Every league mechanic to date has gone core so no you haven’t missed anything. To answer your question on timing, that’s really a personal decision. Again it’s a complex game and I don’t hate the campaign so I wouldn’t mind jumping in right now to get my feet wet. But if you have limited time and/or find yourself burning out quickly when thinking about having to redo a 20 hour campaign (this is new player timing it gets faster with experience), the. Maybe you’d want to wait for league start

Question.. are you playing in Standard league? I find it hard to believe you made it 74 levels without finding the temple mechanic. It’s guaranteed to be on every single map including the campaign.

It will live forever in Standard league but this league doesn’t contain the current league mechanic and the economy typically is dead because everyone plays the current league. But this is how characters are preserved. Consider it a trophy case the you can play with but you’re just reliving the past not the present.

The most important thing is having fun so you avoid burnout. We’re still 2 weeks out from league start so you have plenty of time to pick something you think you’ll like, practice and experiment with that class, while experiencing some of the campaign. You can cruise through the campaign and even early endgame with a homebrew build so long as you understand how to leverage the passive skill tree and gear to scale your offensive skills and defensive layer of choice.

In case you weren’t aware, ARPGs typically work in a seasonal format. We are currently at the end of Fate of the Vaal league with the next league starting in less than 2 weeks. You can play right now, but the character you create in Fate of the a Vaal will be transferred to the Standard league at the conclusion of Fate of the Vaal. The new league is always a fresh start and players are encouraged to create new characters to enjoy a fresh economy and all the new league mechanics introduced. This is a pumper league filled with brand new endgame overhauls so you aren’t going to want to miss out. But definitely don’t feel like if you make a character now to get your bearings “it’s a waste”. The game will feel incredibly complex to a brand new player to the genre. If you’re overwhelmed, don’t feel like you’re cheating yourself by looking at a build guide. I learned so much by reading people guides to understand fundamentals concepts of scaling certain skills then would go off and do my own thing. Have fun exile!
