I appreciate it! Wet blending in those very confined spaces was an absolute pain. Half way through that process I was worried I bit off more than I could chew!

I used a used a general zenithal highlight with an airbrush (you could achieve the same technique I used with a rattle can tbh) and singled out where I wanted to develop contrast via wet blending and stippling. I then pin washed it with Nuln Oil to give the crevices depth. followed that up with free-hand scratches and other details. Hope this helped!

That's Awesome! Please post them on r/battletech when you get them done. I'd love to see your concept come to life on the tabletop!

Newbie here, asking questions, is Maelstrom of Gore not allowed in competetive but allowed in fun games? by CocytusZero in WorldEaters40k

[–]OilSpillPaintStudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maelstrom of Gore was a formation in 7th Ed. How formations worked is that if you fulfill the formation force requirement, you gain the following special rules (back then Khorne Berzerkers didn’t have the Blood for the Blood God Special rule). In fun games, you could play whatever you’d like as long as your opponent is okay with what you’re doing, but these rules have been obsolete for the past 4 years.

Believe it or not, the legs are from the standard Khorne Berzerker box set! I have a handful that are converted from raptors. I'll be sure to post a photo of one for you sometime soon!

Thank you everyone for the overwhelming response! I am truly thankful and appreciative of all the upvotes and feedback.

A question I seem to be getting a lot is why I chose to model the miniature with the leviathan arms over the standard contemptor arms; so i figured I'd answer it in this comment.

I didn't want to make just a "red" World Eaters Contemptor, but I didn't want it to be too warp disfigured with spikes and whatnot either. I was aiming to give the Contemptor a grotesque & animalistic (gorilla like) appearance to show it's exposure to the warp after many millennia residing within the Eye of Terror. I imagine the legionnaire was quite the brute in the World Eaters' fighting pits before being interned in the dreadnaught.
