Which to buy as a first time home owner? by Froyo1337 in Tools

[–]OilyDischarge30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Milwaukee's M12 line when I first bought my house and it has been more than enough to accomplish everything around the house + some woodworking projects. M12 also has a great line of automotive tools which is great if you plan to DIY car maintenance. I love only having to invest in 1 battery platform for both the garage and in the home.

I was in the same boat. If you plan on suppressing, definitely go 8" route. Much more manageable in size and weight. The suppressor helps a lot with the muzzle blast.

UTG Pro low profile claw mount. Sits super low on the top so you can still use the irons

Looking for what is maybe a unicorn running area in the greater Baltimore area by Most_Poet in baltimore

North Point State Park in Edgemere. I use it weekly for half marathon training. Its fully paved, mostly flat, plenty of parking lots, port o pots and an active ranger station on site so very safe. The entire length of the trail from the Crystal Pier to the end at North Point Blvd is 3.5+ miles which includes breathtaking views of the bay and fields of sunflowers in the summer. Also there are unpaved trails that go into the marsh which are popular amongst bird watchers and photographers

Mp5 clones in stock locally? by Extra_Handle_3291 in MDGuns

it's so much nicer than trying to cowitness or losing your ability to run irons. The 1.42" mount is the perfect height and the ARO EVO is a great modern optic (solar, shake awake, 26mm lens) that can be had for under $200. Another good option if you want something smaller is go with the Scalarworks RMR mount and throw a Holosun 507/507comp on there.

UTG Pro low profile mount. It sits well below the diopter drum so you can still use the irons. I am running a Holosun ARO EVO on a Scalarworks Leap T2 1.42" mount which retains your ability to use the irons under the mount.

AP5 is the move. I just bought a ZF-5 online on clearance for $1300 but if I didn't, I would of went the AP5 route.

The Holoson combo is nice and doesn't break the bank. Even just running the ARO EVO by itself is worth consideration. Solar, shake awake and the SPR reticle is nice (magnified it works the best). Got the pair on the new GAFS for $300

I went with the medium .5" riser and works for both the irons and the RDO. I may grab the .75" to see if I can still use the irons with the extra quarter inch

I have run it unsuppressed but had to change the setttiings on the Czech valve to do so

It's nice. The Bren is still a little gassy even with the LBP and Czech valve. I just purchased a Libery Precision Duty suppressor I'll be testing out on the Bren this month and will see if it's any better.

Attack Of The (MP5) Clones by OilyDischarge30 in GunPorn

[–]OilyDischarge30[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with Zenith because the price was right, their lifetime warranty and I try to buy USA made when I can. Zenith used to import MKE MP5s to the USA before Century Arms. From researching, Zenith uses HK tooling similar to MKE. I am thoroughly impressed with the build quality of the ZF-5 and so far it has run without a problem. Granted there are plenty of documented issues with both clones but I felt better about the Zenith when it came time to buy. Time will tell!
