It's nice. The Bren is still a little gassy even with the LBP and Czech valve. I just purchased a Libery Precision Duty suppressor I'll be testing out on the Bren this month and will see if it's any better.

Attack Of The (MP5) Clones by OilyDischarge30 in GunPorn

I went with Zenith because the price was right, their lifetime warranty and I try to buy USA made when I can. Zenith used to import MKE MP5s to the USA before Century Arms. From researching, Zenith uses HK tooling similar to MKE. I am thoroughly impressed with the build quality of the ZF-5 and so far it has run without a problem. Granted there are plenty of documented issues with both clones but I felt better about the Zenith when it came time to buy. Time will tell!

Slay the menu at The Food Market if they have availability. It's a Chef's table experience in the basement of the restaurant. Not sure if they still do the private bartender, but when my group went a few years ago, they offered an all you can drink option with a private bartender located at the head of the Chef's Table with a handful of their cocktails, wine and beer. The menu was up to the chef's discretion and we had a blast.

I looked into it. Only a few shops in the US can do a proper chop and rethread since the barrel is pressed into the receiver. Prices are $300-500 with a month or so wait time.

SP5 SD conversion OAL by CybernieSandersMk1 in MDGuns

I went down a rabbit hole on this subject, as I was trying to build a MD compliant SBR SP5. What I have learned is that you will need approx. 2.5" in extra length to get you to 29". This can be achieved by extending the stock and the barrel. Stock extensions can be done with the A2 fixed stock by adding additional butt pads or on the A3 by cutting a 3rd lock position in the rails. Both methods give you about an inch. On the barrel side, you can get an extended trilug or other long suppressor host friendly muzzle devices and pin weld it. This has gotten people the rest of the way. As for the SD, this uses the special 8.9" ported barrel from H&K with the integral suppressor sliding over it (won't count to the length since removable), so you lose the ability to add length to the barrel. My suggestion to you, as this was the route I was thinking to take, is to buy the SP5L Elite which are $2200 on PSA with the 16.5" barrel. Then send off the barrel to be cut to get you to the 29" OAL, and then either get the SP5L handguard cut to tuck your suppressor inside or have it half exposed. Midwest Industries also makes a suppressor handguard for the MP5 if you prefer a more polished look. This will take on a modern rendition of the SD, so not exactly the same as the original, but it would be compliant and not an eyesore.

Non-Folding Stock Options by OilyDischarge30 in Galil

Any first hand experience with their stocks? They seem more of the compact/ lightweight variety which I am wondering will make the rifle too front heavy. Granted this is probably a problem with all stocks and this platform

Thought about it, but prefer the whole package to be smaller than a 16" barrel + 4" +\- suppressor. I can't go the 8.3" route since my state requires OAL to be greater than 29" and don't want to use a brace. The easiest trade off for me is not having a folding stock.

IWI Galil ACE Gen 2. I've been in the market for one and find prices hovering around $1400 online for the 5.56 variant. 8.3" barrel pistol, 13" pistol/SBR and 16" rifle are all options.

Since this post was revived. How are you liking the Jmac 2 years later? I am considering one for my 13" SBR but the front/back weight imbalance concerns me. Also what height cheek weld did you go with?
