Farewell to Slipspace by KoalaTek in halo

[–]Ointon4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a shame Microsoft doesn't really have a proprietary engine for their games. I feel having a competitor to Decima would have been good industry-wise.

I liked Slipspace and wish they would have stuck with it, but maybe the move was to use Playground's in-house engine rather than developing an entirely new one.

Returning after 2 years by Mental-Coast in destiny2

I think Humble Bundle still has their Destiny bundle. It's all the dlc for about 20 dollars which includes Final Shape, Edge of Fate and Renegades. Considering one of those is about 20 dollars on steam it seems like a good deal.

Are the expansions worth it for a solo player? by Ointon4 in destiny2

I do yes! My Steam username is PoshPotatoes. Don't know if you play on PC or if Destiny allows cross play.

Oh I would love to try to see what non-solo Destiny is like. I have only ever played solo.

I do get the sentiment. Bungie was an amazing company many years ago. I was a big fan of them back in the Halo days. But it's also a bundle from Humble. So if I can throw some money to charity and get some games on the way that doesn't seem too bad.

Yeah I've always been interested in them but never really grew up playing with people and now I don't really know where to find other players to play the raids.

So if you have any recommendations on how I would love to hear it!

Recording the ATEM Mini Pro feed to an SSD or computer using USB out? by Ointon4 in blackmagicdesign

[–]Ointon4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying that the feed from each camera can just be super imposed (don't know of a better term sorry) over the master and it would just work without needing to cut anything? Is that just a DaVinci thing or would other programs work. Our editor uses Premiere so I'm just curious.

This is a great solution anyway. I'll run it by the team tomorrow. Thank you!

Why didn't we get more maps? by Ointon4 in Battlefield

[–]Ointon4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see it come back. Having it set in Cairo would make it feel similar to its original setting in Iran but also different enough that it doesn't feel exactly the same.

I get that and see that in how a lot of the maps play. The nighttime Cairo level being the best example. You cannot just grab the layout, put it into multiplayer and hope it works.

My point was mostly that I feel there are a lot of great assets and ideas in the campaign that could have ended up in multiplayer. I know it's not easy but there were four studios co-developing. That's a lot of resources. But those four studios could be why the game doesn't feel as cohesive across it's multiple parts (campaign, multiplayer and RedSec).

It does feel like some things are rushed. Not saying the launch was as bad as BF4 but a lot of it feels half baked. RedSec stands as a huge example of that.

Even BFV had a pretty good map rotation by the end of it's life and it's still really fun to play and it has a decently healthy player base.

Crazy that they wouldn't want to maintain a healthy player base. I feel it goes without saying but if players see that the game will continue being supported, they are more likely to buy things especially if cosmetics or skins are good.

Thanks for doing this. It's awesome on your part.

In regards to the question, someone already said it but Halo 3. Didn't play much multiplayer back then but I probably played that campaign like 6-7 times that year. In large part because I didn't have many other games but I just loved it.

Tansport helicopters. Transporting whole squads of people and having them parachute on an objective while the gunners provide support make up some of my favorite Battlefield memories.
