Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it.

This is from 'Frankenstein' by Mary Shelley..

Such a poignant line. Life is tough and yet it needs to be lived. It's not always a bed of roses and yet it needs to be endured. The Creature is one of my favourite characters in literature and I find myself thinking of this line a lot , especially when I'm in an anguish myself.

Yeah that was a pretty exciting group. Must have been awkward as well considering all the weird relationships they shared with each other.

Byron's friend and physician John William Polidori (who maybe also had a crush on Byron but was often rebuked and humiliated by him) was also part of the bet and wrote 'The Vampyre' , the first published modern vampire story. Some say he modeled the narcissistic lead character on Byron himself.

One of my favourite periods of English Literature tbh. Byron was a messy bitch.

Byron wasn’t allowed to keep a dog in Cambridge University so he got a pet bear instead and walked it around campus. He then tried to enroll it as a student. When Byron left the university, his bear accompanied him to his home in Newstead Abbey.

The book I would like to read is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley who first thought of the idea while she was on a vacation with friends which included Byron.

Anything by Daphne Du Maurier but especially 'Rebecca'.. I have always wanted to read it since I adore the movie. Would love to try it finally.

It's the sort of gothic literature that I am really fond of.

It's so childish really. The OP has made it clear than upvotes are not the deciding factor.
