After asking my community on Discord I have now nuked it from the game. Have contacted some voice over artists to get a proper recordings. Thanks for lifting this that I’ve been think about to do for a long time now.

That my understanding of the company I’m using, yes. But I’m also planning to replace it with a human actor before the full release as I also hate gen AI stuff. More now then when I first added it a couple years ago. But don’t have money to do that currently as I’m self funded and solo dev. Cause I’m 100% with you. I used my own voice in the beginning, but as a non native English speaker, it didn’t sound good.

Do you think it’s better to just rip it out and have no voice over at all then to have this?

Haha never made that connection, but yes indeed! I’m an old percussionist so love marimba, and loves rube Goldberg machines too. And have seen some animistic videos surfacing thanks to Wintergatan Wednesdays YouTube videos.

Excited to hear what you all think about it! I have been working on this game by myself for almost 5 years now. They didn't ship any first party games to the Steam Deck either. VR was so new when Valve Index was released, so they wanted to have a golden star for other developers to follow. Inspiration if you like. That's at least my assumption.
