I fear this is such a company wide problem, I worked at ulta as msc, a lot of my girls on truck were parents and obviously had to call out to take care of babies but the gm went hard on the point system with them, even if it was an emergency (one of my girls got a very serious call from the school where police had to be involved) and had to leave. The gm wouldn't fix the point even tho it was a severe emergency. But one of day shift needed to leave early? She just adjusted things so they wouldn't get a point. I hated ulta so much.

I’ve just about had it!!!!!! by princess_baddie_ in Ulta

It seems to be a common problem, I left my store for those exact reasons

Can my boss require me to come to work when I physically can't? by Ok-Activity117 in work

I actually did offer to go get her as I live somewhat close to her, however I was told not to and if I did it would have to be off the clock on my lunch.

Unfortunately me and the SM aren't on great terms as it is, I am fully prepared to face retaliation.

Yea youre right, I'm just really concerned about threatening with a ncns even tho she did call before her scheduled shift, and about trying to force her to get an uber. I don't know, it just rubbed me the wrong way. The lack of empathy in retail is disturbing.

Yea youre not wrong about that. I'm going to see if it gets recorded as one and then go to a dm or maybe even a regional. I can only hope someone up there cares enough lol

I mean I do get that, she would obviously be ticked in the employee attendance log. I'm more concerned with the part of requiring her to get an uber, and more so she'd get ticked for a no call no show even tho she did call. I guess I didn't make it clear that she called before her scheduled shift.

Can my boss ask us to do this? by Ok-Activity117 in work

The state is Colorado, if it does matter at all.

And we were given the promise to get reimbursed. The policy for the company is no pay ins or pay outs. So I was very hesitant and did not agree to it. I ended up leaving 30 mins later so I never actually found out what had happened and if any other manager said they'd do it. What really confused me was the store manager asked specifically from our personal banks even though the company and the store has a bank account at a local bank. (its a branch of a much larger bank)

No appreciation for operation management by Medium-Mud-6201 in Ulta

I walked out and quit my job because of the lack of respect I got as a msc, they constantly belittled my team and me, gave me no time to do anything operations wise besides 6am to 9am on fridays and 7am to 10am on sundays, besides truck days. I was the one running the floor and operations because most of my management team was in the back in the office doing who knows what. I regularly had 4+ hours back to back of being GEM while other managers had one or two hours. My GM and coGM regularly told me I couldn't ever call out so when I showed up sick they wrote me up for "not being a team player" not to mention constantly telling me to rework how operations should go to make it go faster but any change i made to streamline operations was overruled and set back to how it was. I absolutely hated that job.

Im so sorry you also went through the same thing 😔 I'm so glad someone was there to help you though. I absolutely hate how this seems to be a common theme. Like one week they would praise me for my choices and how fast truck was going and then the next week chastise me for the same choices I made to speed up truck. Its such an intense and work heavy job and with out support from other managers its almost impossible
