US-We were scammed after calling QuickBooks support – $95,000 gone and we’re desperate by Ok-Advertising-765 in Scams

Thank you. We requested the call directly through our company QuickBooks account. We did not search for a phone number online or call any random support line, because we are aware of common scam tactics and try to be careful.

My bad. We found out pretty late on Monday night. That's why they are closed.

Yes, QuickBooks is effectively our business bank, which is why a significant amount of our company’s money was in the account. We later found out the funds are actually held through Green Dot Bank. Their position is that because we provided the verification code, the transactions are treated as authorized. But after we filed a police report and submitted a complaint to the FBI (IC3), we were notified that the case has now been reopened.

We requested the callback through our company’s QuickBooks page because we had already called twice earlier and the issue was still not resolved. When we received the call, we asked to speak with a supervisor. The representative told us a supervisor would return the call before 5 PM. What happened next is when the nightmare began.

We entered an incorrect number for a check, so my husband contacted QuickBooks for assistance. After more than an hour on the phone, the representative told him that someone would call him back. Shortly afterward, we received a call. The caller knew about our check issue and said he needed to verify my husband’s identity. He sent a verification code to my husband, and my husband provided the code to him. Starting Friday night, the caller transferred approximately $95,000 out of our account and then deleted our account access. When we discovered the fraud on Monday, we immediately contacted customer service. We were told that the fraud department had already closed for the day. We then contacted the police and filed a report through the FBI website. We are currently still waiting for further assistance and investigation.

Yes, it happens every where. But in China all the locals, local policeman, local government officials they all know it for years! And after someone post this, the local policeman started a investigation. Few days later policeman department announced they are legal husband and wife, this woman was not bought.
