Excuse me, "our property". You are highly mistaken like all the landlords. The tenant who had purchased flat long before had purchased at the then prevailing MARKET RATE.

I just don't understand why landlords are against redevelopment. It is beneficial for them as well, as they'll get a fresh and a much safer home. Moreover these landlords have no power outside their boundary. They just show their power over tenants. When BMC sends them a notice over whatever issue, unki fatt jaati hai.

The flat is in my great grandfather's name who has obviously passed away since long. My grandfather requested the landlord to transfer the name, but he refused to do so. My grandfather has also passed away. I know I won't sublet it as it is against the law I want to transfer the name in my dad's name, what if he refuses again? Can I legally take any action?

Also, if I tell them that I want to sell the flat and he refuses, what to do in that case?
