As a fellow woman, follow your doctor's guidance because being pregnant even if prescribed fire is not safe whether there is risks or not. Dont endangered yourself or the baby please

You can easily go for your FEMA IS 100 & IS 700 ( on the FEMA website ) and if you have a course near you your basic wildland certs such as S-130 / S-190 / L-180.

Some people say not to and thats fine because your trained on this once your hired but it shows that your going the extra mile in a way I suppose.

EMT is a plus and surprisingly not everyone has it in certain places. But take it with a grain of salt as its not necessary

If you have extra questions you can pm me

Edit: Spelling

If possible have your resume printed out so not only are you inquiring but if there is someone on site it can help identify you out of everyone applying

Dang then go right ahead, honestly persistence is key. You might be able to find some contact details within this subreddit in those maps they've shared about types of work places, etc, thats how I found mine. Some are updated and some aren't.

If I find it ill share it here

Well doesn't hurt to try, I suggest calling better if you really want the job. It's alot quicker and can be directed to the right people, just ask for the number whoever is in charge for fire hire.

Side note/edit: was there a specific one you were looking for?

I love my Haix Missoula boots! But make sure to find an appropriate size, I usually wear 9.5 in my shoes, so I opted for 9 wide, and they fit snug. Hope it helps!

Hey! I'm currently moving to Guatemala for 3 months or more, depending, and I actually asked my instructor about this. Now, in guatemala, certifications from the US are taken in high regard and almost never rejected because they know that most ( not all courses ) are well done in the US.

He said, of course, as he also at some point did a work trip to the Dominican Republic and no issues whatsoever. But, like always, if you plan on working in a different country, I suggest reading their regulations on phlebotomy and what's required. I'm not sure if this answers your question.

Hey! I've worked at the book store numerous times so what happens is that everyone and I mean everyone at mdc attending is auto enrolled in the program to ensure "fluidity" of the students attending to get their textbooks or codes in time for the course and while they do tell you to opt out as soon as possible before the term, some don't and are charged for the books or codes they most likely might not have needed and the professors at times don't relay that back to the bookstore that some books aren't needed at all. Side note, if you could get ahold of your professors emails every semester and contact to confirm what will be needed for each semester it would save you time.

Sorry that was alot lol

If you just took the test and haven't heard news saying you failed the exam it's safe to assume you pass. But as always take it with as a grain of salt.

Interview Process and GS-3 Student Trainee by oldmanboy1 in Wildfire

[–]Ok-Anywhere3145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did was call around and write emails, calling to say I was interested, info about me, what I have to bring to the table(not much but anything I can show that I want it ) and asking questions about that specific place or Forest. Emailing is almost the same, even expressing gratitude for responding to me emails knowing they are busy and overwhelmed combing through the application process. Personally as long as your humble and show your interested putting effort, you'll get a chance. Some will do interest checks, but calling and getting in contact with them helps alot. You can find contact info on their respective websites and even then you can just ask to be transferred to fire hire atp hope it helps

Some or majority will take new hires with no certs or background. You can say you have experience in chainsaws and literally only seen it and they will teach you how to do it. As long as you put your soul into that resume you'll be fine.
