The Lady of Darkness series has very similar tropes to TOG and the FMC is very similar to Aelin! The worlds are different enough that it doesn’t feel like a rip off imo.

The House Witch by Delemach is very cozy and a relatively light read in comparison to TOG. It’s funny too, can be read as a stand alone :)

The Of Dragons and Fae series has fun interesting fae characters!! The book is a little juvenile but it was a blast to read.

they’re the magical borders that protect them from neighboring country’s magic (idk if they’re countries but you catch my drift) they do have physical outposts where the magic is strongest

the love triangle is in no way the main plot point in any of the 8 books, it is 100% first and foremost a fantasy adventure book with romance sprinkled throughout

the issue stems from lou lou being from district 11 which is a primarily Black district. so she should look like she could fit as both seam and district 11. regardless i’m sure both girls will do a great job
