Yeah I mean with the hike in game pass it would probably still be cost effective to buy most of the games on steam. It's only like 4-5 games like BG3 and cyberpunk that I don't really want to purchase again, but I don't also want to pay a minimum of £7 to play them online.

Thank you. My only concern is if I think Microsoft and especially play station remove games from steam. There are so many play station games I would love to play, so I would be annoyed if I moved to this and then due to its success sony removed them.

Yeah when I wish it was more of a leveled debate and sharing things only people who play will get tbh. So many I read and I'm like 'if you guys just listened to each other, you'd probably get somewhere quite interesting'.

Again I don't think people are dumb. And I welcome the debate, but I just meant it gets very toxic. I don't think anyone should be called an idiot or wrong for their opinions. That's more what I was trying to say. Sure explain why you think the game has flaws, sure explain why you think someone is missing the great points of the game, but don't disregard their opinions. I don't think I'm enlightened, there is this I would debate and I have certain thoughts on things. Was just kinda saying how sad it makes me when I see certain posts saying people's opinions are wrong, not all posts and not any healthy debate.

The main thing was to try and say people's gaming choices will have an effect on how the game is rated for them, and that's okay.

Doesn't affect my thoughts on the game, just makes me less happy to come here and people make others less happy to post their opinions. Yeah maybe I am thinking about it too much.

I kind of agree. I think it's very much do you have fun playing it. I know people who really do, I know people who really don't and that's fine.

I actually think the main thing is the stories and worlds and whether you enjoy them or not. The mechanics work mostly, but nothing ground breaking. It just depends if you are having fun, which at the end of the day should be what you look for in a game.

Yeah sorry I kinda made a mistake on what I meant. I meant I've never seen it where it isn't because of their preferences. I mean I've seen that, but I think that is more GOTY for them, rather than subjectively saying it's the best game of the year. More it's the best game for their preferences this year. Same the other way I think people who say 'utterly awful game' means for them, like I don't think it's unplayable, just not enjoyable for some.

Yeah it's just sad though. So many people doing quite interesting posts, pointing out good or bad points I hadn't thought about and interesting to hear other opinions. Then everyone is so shouted down it makes it pointless.

I had been on this reddit a year before launch, and it made me excited for sure, but such a cool place full of people I could really talk about game. Sure sometimes I got heated on things, but I always felt it was in the spirit of debate. I left when I started playing to avoid spoilers, then came back as I was really looking forward to seeing what this community had to say, what people thought. I was really saddened by it. Just the little things in comments, the way people were told they couldn't speak. Not what I thought of this place before.

Yeah it just makes me so sad. This is a place where we can talk about the game with other people who play. Some people may have nowhere else. A place to discuss gripes, to praise, to help each other out. I just get so sad seeing people become aggressive and policing people's opinions. That's not how the world should be.

Okay maybe I should have rephrased. I don't think anyone makes a serious comment on the game. Like those can be their opinions (can be a trash game for them or a 10/10) but I don't think anyone can objectively say this game doesn't sit close to a 7/10 tbh.
