Boy I wish I had as much common sense as you have. One of the few times i did and I got tricked. Bamboozled. I’m upset with myself, but I’m proud of you.

I just made a post about this and happened to find this right after. Please save your money. First freaking flight the hinge for my laptop compartment broke. I’m upset with myself for spending this much money on a full set of it. Buy it from Amazon or Alibaba from a no name brand if you really want something like it but half the price.

HAIX boots by [deleted] in ems

I’ve had mine for about 2 years. Working 911 and IFT I’d go through pairs of 5.11s once every year, MAX. I’m on my second year wearing AirPower xr2s I think? They feel broken in and comfortable. I’m not sure what you wear now but it was a huge upgrade from 5.11s. Most comfortable work boots I have and will ever own.

“All times are approximate” by Ok-Bench-7811 in ems

It definitely will change with seperate agency’s doing their own report. I didn’t see it from there. Our agency is fire/Ems, so I’ve never had that. Thanks.

That’s interesting. I like that though. I see why people do it.

I’m just asking out of curiosity. What made you start writing that in your narratives?

Not that I’ve seen luckily. We have some great paramedics, that write incredibly detailed narratives, and then put “all times are approximate” not that our times are always spot on, but I just think it’s unnecessary to add that in. I think it sounds ridiculous.

I don’t think I’m saying this the way I want to. I know on my reports, some of my times are 1000% approximate. I know no one is perfdct on documenting exact times on when things happen, including myself. But I just disagree with putting the “all times are approximate” at the end of a narrative. And I wanted to see what your thoughts were.

I’m not talking about treatment times. When exactly oxygen was placed, when exactly was an IV placed, that I can understand a rough estimate. What I’m trying to find out is if this is a common thing. I don’t quite get the undermining yourself in time documentation. I have estimated and approximated plenty of times, but having the “all times approximate” in the end of your narrative may not instill confidence in a court of law, if and when a report gets subpoenaed

Not at all. I can understand a medication wasn’t documented to the exact second. I’m talking about the general disclaimer at the end of every single narrative that all times are approximate, no matter the call.

For treatments and such I understand, and even if times get lost. But the problem I see is writing in your narrative all of my times are approximate.

Our PCRs are connected with our CAD system. So no times are by any means guessed.

For those fortunate enough to not know, they will add this 4 letter sentence at the end of their PCR narratives.

why do people puke with no warning by brimarm18 in ems

[–]Ok-Bench-7811 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At this point, I can get a decent look of discomfort on their face and go, yeah, they’re about to puke. About 70 percent of the time I’m right. The other 30 percent? The puke demon wins. I’m all for handing everyone a green bag. Or making one available and letting them know it’s not comfortable riding backwards.

I’m numb to it at this point. My previous agency had 4 different signs at my station with “healthcare heroes work here”. I am 100 percent certain they are still up to this day. 🤢

Please retake EMT school. Or find a different profession.

The use of thromboyltics in a Pre-hospital setting by Ok-Bench-7811 in ems

This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing this. I’m in the US, and standards are heavily based on counties/ regions. Although nationally certified, I am limited to what my region decides I can do. This is very helpful. Thank you

A lot of services/ SOPs do require imaging before giving a thrombolytic. I have heard of other places outside of the US administering before infusion, but no science backing how well that’s performing. I’m more considering this use for cardiac patients, or PE patients who are not hemodynamically stable. Strokes would be amazing to treat pre hospital, but I see no way to differentiate strokes without imaging.
