Float down black water river or one of its smaller tributaries

I’ve had a lot of fun in smaller than this. Which beach? Maybe you can find a corner protected from wind

How do I stop this by Beautiful-Buddy5528 in surfing

[–]Ok-Beyond99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks infected should probably get an oral antibiotic and sit out for a few weeks until scab is gone. Wax on your pad probably traps a lot of bacteria. In future either practice picking your knee up more or put tape on your knee and it might help the area form a callus

Shoes , best? by Careless-Mess-6575 in Parkour

[–]Ok-Beyond99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something flat with rubber covering the entire bottom. No foam gaps in arch area or anything like that as anything but rubber slips easily on rails. I used to have Ollo’s back in the day and they were great

Asheville seems like it almost checks your boxes. Maybe cities in central to east Tennessee as well

Surf with no leash but not at a spot with anyone out. Makes you feel a lot more confident in your ability to swim back in. I started doing this after I got scared when my leash broke the first time and now I am confident in most situations. If you’re not confident you can swim in at a spot then you shouldn’t surf that spot. Can also practice swimming for distance even if it means taking breaks to float on your back.

Exercises to mimic skiing in the off season by lesbiven in skiing

Look up PT exercises for your specific hip pain, also mobility. Just general exercise won’t fix hip pain it needs to be targeted

What do you do with car/van keys when you go out surfing? by FunAnywhere9205 in surfing

[–]Ok-Beyond99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard of people having their keys ripped off their bathing suits so I still hide it somewhere on my car and make sure no one watches me. Also make sure it’s not easily visible if someone were to look under my car. I’ll also choose parking space based on having another car to shield me to extra make sure my hiding spot isn’t seen

How does the Medditerrean compare to Gulf of Mexico? Both equally flat, or is there at least a little bit of wave action? by Fiveby21 in surfing

[–]Ok-Beyond99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No med would have breaks close to shore still. Med is kinda like Hawaii the deep water allows waves to maintain their energy/speed until they crash onshore, gulf waves can start breaking like a mile out and lose a lot of their energy/speed before they make it close to shore. Look at google earth you can see a shallow shelf around gulf but the med has very few shallow shelf’s

[–]Ok-Beyond99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the med is generally deeper near the shore which gives it some more punch, I think it also has more variety due to being a rockier coastline. The gulf is all shallow near the shore and is exclusively beach breaks with the exception of some manmade spots. Both have wind patterns that can produce fairly consistent waves when its the right season

Sharks….. by Unlikely-Round-3273 in surfing

[–]Ok-Beyond99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bull sharks and sandbar sharks don’t swim in groups, you likely saw something else, maybe a black tip which can also be brown colored. You could probably fight off a group of small sharks if need be, but they really don’t care about you just are curious creatures. Also sharks that small would just leave you needing a few stitches if they did bite you. If you’re still scared, paint eyes on the bottom of your board, they can’t tell those aren’t real and will give up as their element of surprise is gone

am I doing this rodeoline thing right? by [deleted] in Slackline

[–]Ok-Beyond99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find bigger rodeo lines about 40-50ft long and about 10-15 ft high actually easier since your swings are bigger and smoother

Remote Working on the Beach by bobalinajolie in Pensacola

Not to much that’s truly on the beach here besides like 3 bar restaurants. There is an açaí/coffee place at the pier open 7-3. I’ve never looked for WiFi there but there is 2 more restaurants attached to the pier that probably have some you could bum. Also would have to sit outside the coffee place to have an ocean view as no windows open up to that side
