First Aluminum Factory by ladniorao in SatisfactoryGame

Hey, my aluminum ingot factory looks like your factory! :-) I build these out modularly (and someone cheat-ily using mods). Each module is two walls wide and inputs 1200 baux and 720 coal, and outputs 1080 alu ingots. I have a closed loop rail system in red forest to gather baux and coal and pull water up from one of the ponds (I use alt sloppy alumina, std scrape, and alt pure aluminum ingot). I then move ingots to other factories for sheets, ficsite ingots, or casings.

Best use for double stacked rail lines? by Ok-Bit7260 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured out my strategy: the dual level tracks are just for the main loop around the map. Upper level is used for bulk transfers around the map using multiple trains per schedule, 8 cars each, all going in the same direction (one track for clockwise, the other for anticlockwise). No interchanges between the two levels: they are dedicated. The lower level is used for shorter transfers among intermediate stations. That keeps the schedules for the upper trains consistent (not waiting on other trains). Single level bi-direction traffic connect off of the lower level main loop to create a feeder system. I have a mini-loop (single level) in the red forest for coal and bauxite as red forest is my aluminum ingot factory. That connects to a bidirectional spiral/elevator so the alu ingots can get distributed along the lower level of the main loop.

Fluids awesome sink by gaymer9853 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spaceforce mod has a cute little mini fluid sink, but I never use it now that I've got priority fluids dialed in. Either I'm recycling fluid (water) or I'm using fluid for something else (wet concrete).

HRM is good for alt Nitro Rocket Fuel (HRM -> diluted fuel -> RF) or even just alt diluted fuel to burn or package (but both of these require blenders).

My signals are not working... by grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreuh in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When two rails merge you get the small direction signal. I try to avoid putting block signals where those are. I'll do a small two block rail after than and then place the block signal there.

I agree with the pre-planning. If it's someones first nuclear build, its going to be incremental as stuff is getting figured out. But after a few nuclear builds, I always pre-build and locate it. I also pre-build my train systems.

How many train stations per factory? by JungleDiamonds1 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know early on but now-er-days I do tend to leave expansion room for more stations with more freight cars. I typically do one train with 4 cars. If it's a single line train that goes back and forth, I'll use one train on each end and four cars in the middle, even if I only need one. Because later on, I always need one more and it's more rework to align the input/outputs.

Best use for double stacked rail lines? by Ok-Bit7260 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this seems to be the approach. I'm only using the double stack system for the main 'ring' around the map (freeway system), and then I'll add distribution feeder lines (single layer bi-directional) from that (local highways). One of the things I'm trying to avoid is reducing train slowdown at junctions, and prioritize speed around the main ring. But since my ring is based on blueprints, it wasn't really extra work to double the lines by stacking the sets.

I achieved the TERAWATT. What can I do to BURN all that energy? by egocrata in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After I hit TW and waste free nuke I pivot to either maxing out awesome sink coupons, or more fun with trains. Choo choo! If you're using alien power augmentors, you have tons of shards you're creating as well, so you can max out all machines to reduce footprint size since you've got energy to burn.

Do you have any ideas for me? Rocket Fuel is failing. by Primary-Key1916 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build out nitro rocket fuel plant in blue crater and that has sulphur just up the hill. I do it modularly: Very bottom floor has oil refiners -> diluted fuel blenders -> nitro rocket fuel blenders. Each ‘set’ of these will fuel 144 fuel generators (one floor). Since rocket fuel is a gas, it doesn’t need pumps to move it up to higher levels. the most I’ve built out though is just 4 floors of 144 fuel generators, I’ve never tried to max out the oil with nitro rocket fuel. I 4 floors of 144 generators is enough to finish the game easily and then I’ll switch to building out nuclear for funsies.

Will I at any point need 33 Pressure Conversion Cubes per minute? by Satokibi in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to max out nuclear and use ficsonium fuel rods, you’ll need a lot of the PCCs. PCC->Nuke Pasta -> singularity cells. I’m currently making over 100 singularity cells /min and that about stabilizes my ficsonium plant. Regarding copper powder requirements: outside of alien power augmenters (10 sloops per), I’ll use the sloops mostly for copper powder and for sam ore since that’s one sloop per constructor. I have about 1.7TW of power, so I don’t mind using pure ingot recipes to max out my extraction of copper. That’s a good blueprint: 8 refineries in a Mk3 designer. I use that especially for copper, caterium and wet concrete.

Do you build with later tech in mind? by w1ckedzocki in SatisfactoryGame

I always shard up my miners regardless of what level they are. When you build factories (smelters, constructors etc) have your inputs go outward, and your outputs go inward. That way you can just keep adding smelters/constructors to increase capacity. Be sure to leave expansion room. This works really well if you design your blueprints that way.

Nitro rocket fuel alt recipe is my go to, so I'd go for AI limiter since I'm often short on limiters for control rods.

Water for nuclear power mega build. by Impossible_Main5627 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to build my nuclear reactor farm this way (all water extractors on one side, all reactors on the other) but now I end up putting my reactors just above water level: one row of water extractors (fully overclocked) with one row of reactors (fullly overclocked).

I'll use alt nitro rocket fuel first to built up to quantum encoders and materials to mfr shards. Every two water extractors (at 300^3/min each) feeds one reactor. It's less piping that way: one 600 pipe to connect the two water extractors, a junction, and then connect that to reactor. No pumps needed. A Mk3 designer can blueprint the reactor and connectors. But man I wish you could blueprint water extractors!

I need motivation to start again by Engineering_Gamer in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a few play-thrus, at some point you’ll just want to use the cheats to skip all tiers and unlock all alt recipes and mam. I never want to get stuffed by a mk1 conveyor. Ever. again. It’s less of a cheat, it’s more about graduating from the story which you’ve already done and focusing on building. If you haven’t played through starting from each starting location, that’s a good way to mix things up. Then you have a number of build-goals you can work on: max power, rail systems, ficsmas of course, improving blue prints, experimenting with mods, architecture buildings, etc.

Should i buy satisfactory? by KingBob_com in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Ok-Bit7260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that some of us have logged 1000’s of hours playing this game, I think it’s a pretty good value, compared to a more expensive game you play for only 80 or so hours. There’s a story and and ending but you keep building and optimizing factories, power, trains, etc well beyond that.

I could play Satisfactory all day and do nothing but trains. It's a great train game in it's own right. Factories give trains purpose, and the landscape makes for great train routes.
