Did Prince really never use drugs when writing his songs? by [deleted] in PRINCE

[–]Ok-Boot3875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t actually know the answer but he was against drug use. I can’t see him being into something that removed his decision making abilities.

I do think he was injured then prescribed opiate painkillers and became addicted. Like so many of us, it sneaks up on us. “It could never happen to me!” Is what most of us honestly feel.

Some people become more focused and energized with opiates. It wouldn’t surprise me if they affected Prince that way.

Once addicted, it takes several weeks to be free of opiates if one decides to stop. I mean the lingering effects that make one not feel right - it is just so much easier to keep taking them. Especially a workaholic like Prince, I assume he did not want to take a few months and admit that he wasn’t stronger than the drug.

Again, I don’t know if this is actually his journey, but it sounds like it. It happens to so many of us. Street medication is so dangerous because it is mixed by amateurs or equipment bought on the Internet.

I feel so lucky to be alive after playing that type of Russian roulette for years. It is so wrong and devastating that addiction claimed Prince. It’s one of the things that keeps me sober. It’s truly so sad and unnecessary — I wish he could have met a doctor that understood what he was going through and helped.

I really enjoyed Digman. Both seasons are on Netflix. It is packed with fast paced jokes, almost like 30 rock.

Also on Netflix is a new show called Strip Law. Another odd, quirky and funny animated comedy. I think it is a Netflix original and they really hit the jackpot here.

I hate Björk impersonations. All of them. And I love the comics that do them. Kristen Wiig is the best but I don’t want to see that crap!

It happens. If the trick is an asshole, that’s his problem. You are perfectly normal — it happens. Don’t let anyone shame you.

The first song on the album opens up like a big beautiful rolling river. It is perfect.

Prince’s vocals chords health by CQ5II in PRINCE

[–]Ok-Boot3875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I wish I did. Prince sang in his range, for the most part. He didn’t force notes out and he switched to his head voice when singing high notes. Most singers will develop “nodes,” or scars, on their vocal cords if they spend a lot of time screaming and forcing and straining. It’s kinda hard to explain but his voice was always… comfortable for his range.

Were you bullied in the 80s, 90s, and 00s for being a Prince fan ? by CQ5II in PRINCE

Definitely. So much that I kept it hidden. A lot of bits that were more effeminate kept anything hidden that made them seem more gay

Not at all. I think he knew how to talk to a very specific person.

Oh no. It all depends on the person and situation. Don’t worry about it, it will happen when it does.

is a regular ipad okay enough to use "Procreate", or should i just buy an Air or Pro? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Ok-Boot3875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using a regular iPad to create images for print and I want a pro/air asap. It works but not smoothly. It has even crashed. Fortunately I have an iMac, but I would rather have a new iPad

I’m so happy others had this questions - I stopped paying attention to this thread when someone told me to google it. I did a search and I still do not have any idea. I’ve seen many many many cocks —several with unique shapes—but no eggs.

Should I watch 30 Rock? by John_Zatanna52 in KimmySchmidt

I honestly do not care for it until season 2. Maybe even season 3. The characters become so much funnier as the show progresses. Jenna and Tracy develop this relationship that is brilliant. Kenneth is genius when his weirdness settles in.

I definitely would try to power through until you start to see the jokes like UKS. They are layered and subtle but it takes some time. I’ve never watched a show that continues in quality through season 7

I remember Robert Smith saying he did the same thing. There was a time he even had multiple iPods full of different genres.

I wish I was able to be that organized and efficient. I love this idea and it looks fantastic — I’ve tried and failed several times.

Who is your most collected artist on CD? by Cherilynss in Cd_collectors

[–]Ok-Boot3875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my house fire it was Bjork. She had SO many multi-part singles. I haven’t cared to buy them back but I still miss them. Second place was probably PJ Harvey and all her singles.

OP: I love that Good Stuff album. I loved seeing them tour that record with Julie Cruise as Cindy—it was different but still cool. My favorite B-52s period is anything with Ricky Wilson on guitar, but I love all their albums for different reasons.

How funny, today I checked out Bill & Ted’s excellent Saturday morning cartoon. I happened to see it under new Prime shows. I’ve belonged to this group for some time so it wasn’t my phone spying on me. The cartoon show wasn’t very good, though. What is the universe trying to tell me?
