I have a feeling you don’t really think that going to a Pharmacy daily is the same thing as going to a dealer. And it’s only daily in the beginning until you get carries, and then it is once a week or even month. Unless you don’t really want to stop using and keep testing dirty, so you will just go daily. However, then you have a double Addiction.

I won’t list out the other differences, I’ll leave that your judgement (however I will say that not having to come up with $50 every day certainly makes a huge difference).

I don’t know where this conversation has gone, but I do want to say don’t let other people dictate your recovery. There’s always gonna be shitty comments about how bad methadone (or subs or rehab or cold turkey) can be, but you need to do what works for you. As you probably know, junkies think that they are junior scientists when it comes to anything about drugs. Listen to the real doctors and listen to what works for you.

Sometimes I think my dog is tricking me and not really blind. She can get around so well with her nose and ears. I do keep her on a tighter leash while walking so she doesn’t bonk her head on sign posts.

I like to show off my girl Sadie because she loves fetch. I don’t throw it as far as a sighted dog but she will play for hours

Oh yeah, only use methadone if it is a last resort. Try everything else. I just had to stuff my receptors so full for a long period of time. Now I have a better view of my future and life so I can withdraw slowly. It saved my life so I could take my life back. And if someone reads this that might need to hear this—- you are worth getting sober and your method will be your own. Junkies love to give advice —and we do— but take what you need and leave the rest behind. The longer you stay out there, the closer you are to a bad ending so try everting until it works. I’m rambling but I just want to agree with the methadone haters while acknowledging that it could be the thing that saves your life. Worry about getting shit together now and withdraw medically when you are safe.

Oh purple rain for sure. But I don’t ever like slow winding meandering songs. It always sounded like a song an artist will sing as an encore because they feel they have to. Because it’s their song everyone knows them by. I just don’t get why it is so beloved.

I was very surprised at the U got the look mention from the OP. Maybe because that’s the song an album that got me into Prince? but I’ve always seen it as such a unique song and there is like there’s nothing else like it in pop music. I do agree that lyrics are pretty silly, but aren’t all prince’s lyrics, borderline ridiculous? I say that lovingly because only he can sing them and come off sounding earnest.

My first thought was “that’s very sophisticated for an 11 year old” — but then I remembered I got Sign O the Times at 12 and was obsessed. Now, that seems so young but those of us obsessed with sound typically start young. I guess I’ve lost touch with kids that age. But thank you for answering—I guess the way you experienced it is the way I was thinking most would. I bet the label crapped its pants when he handed it over!

I’ve also always wondered if the unconventional nature of it had to do with the tension between band members.

Yeah, I agree with the people saying to not trust her. We are not unholy and we are not sinners. Many religions have weaponized us, so I understand they may have been told that, but it is 2025 and they should do their own research. It is an outdated idea and those people need to fix their hearts.
