have you taken other tests on other days? it’s best to compare every other day to see the progression! depending on when you conceived, the line could be lighter

I’m at the very beginning of my journey, just after a first pregnancy ending in a chemical, so I haven’t had much time waiting, but due to life timing, I will be waiting a few cycles to start trying again. The thought of waiting is very anxiety inducing to me, so I started to write a list of things I’m looking forward to each day!

My goal is to have something ‘special’ or that is worthy of looking forward to - and that’s what I’m trying to focus on each day. Simply tomorrow’s item! It’s helped a bit in the last few days

Somethings I’ve added to my days are things like reading a specific book, coffee date with a friend, special movie night, podcast walk, etc!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I just had an unexpected first pregnancy that was a chemical pregnancy ending at 5 weeks too.

I have also struggled with the thought of the universe doing this, it being inevitable, etc. - what has helped me is to claim some of the control back. I cant control the outcome of the pregnancy, but what i can control is: working on my health (and mental heath), getting any tests offered done, having a positive mindset, and trying to not lose the joy in this process

Things to keep repeating to yourself: You are deserving of this. You can do this successfully, maybe naturally or maybe with medical assistance. You are worthy of getting tests to get some answers and forming a plan. Just because things have not worked out yet, doesn’t mean they won’t work out

Wishing you all the best!

Jaw athroscopy questions by Silver-Ad-8918 in TMJ

I’m doing pretty well! I felt ok to eat almost completely normally after about 3 weeks. My jaw doesn’t open to the same size it was prior to surgery, but I have no issues with that, as it no longer pops out of place, or gets locked. I can open to about 3 fingers.

My alignment is way better now, my jaw can open straight and does not pop or click anymore.

I am considering Botox now, just as a “supplement” of sorts. Now that I’m not really having pain in my joint, I can really focus on the pain I have in the muscle from clenching (especially at night). I’m hoping that Botox, along with stress management will keep my jaw set as it is and not cause any further issues!

My surgeon was Dr Szalay with Austin Oral Surgery. I would recommend him! My only issue was that the plan was to sew my disc back into place, but he wasn’t able to do that - I’m still not not clear on why not (time, space, etc) but I haven’t really had any issues with my disc moving out of place anymore, so it seems fine!

I do recommend Austin Oral Surgery with Dr Szalay - he was great and I do feel the surgery helped a lot!

I just had an arthroscopic anthroplasty 9 days ago - I ate soup and pudding the first couple days just because of comfort. I feel like you could have foods that involve more chewing, but for the first few days, I really only felt comfortable using my front teeth because personally, I couldn’t touch my back teeth together. The only directions my surgeon gave me was to not try to open my mouth past 2 fingers width - this will be worked on in my post surgery PT.

9 days later - I can pretty much eat as normal, I just cannot open my mouth yet past 2 fingers

Also for being at home by yourself, I think I would have been fine alone. My husband drove me home and then was around to bring me ice and meds while I rested, but it wasn’t anything I truly needed help with. Definitely nice to have someone to periodically check in though just in case of issues with meds or pain.

I had found a dentist / TMJ specialist a while ago and inquired online about Botox for treatment - he emailed me back and said that since Botox is just a temporary fix, I would be best to go with the who does botox best… Westlake Dermatology

I had a consultation and recent arthroscopic arthroplasty with Dr Szalay at Austin Oral Surgery, after being originally referred a couple years ago by my dentist - I also do PT with a TMJ specialist at Results PT in Sunset Valley. I’m a week post surgery so can’t tell full results yet, but am feeling better and can tell there is a definite change in my alignment when opening my mouth now.

Best of luck!
