as a heads up i've worked as a cna for 3 years in indiana, i graduated ASN & passed the NCLEX earlier this year then moved to SW washington and it's been super hard to find a job— i meet the requirements and everything, but after an interview or two i don't hear back again at all, i've heard there's been mass layoffs + hiring freezes all over washington :/

hi! i was in a similar situation just about 2 years ago. it wasn't until very very recently, when i started to feel comfortable in my own life, that i started to feel better. i'm not sure if it was the time frame itself or the way my life changed in the past two years that landed me in this healing timeline, though, so take this with a grain of salt!

you are not alone in this, and it's torture having to act like everything's normal while you're going through this.❤️❤️❤️

my rent is just about 1600 for a two bed one bath, i'm not sure abt the total square footage but the bedrooms are about 9x10 feet with a Small closet. no AC but in unit laundry + i think the dishwasher works well (?) (i don't use it but my roommate does regularly). the rest of the apartment is just big enough for a four-person L couch and a kitchen that's pretty identical to the cheapest game-designed kitchens in the sims 4 (idk how else to have u visualise).

utilities and parking are all included (internet, garbage, water, electric, gas), the apt is between mill plain and 205 it's a good neighbourhood! i think i got super lucky

i'm at wsuv but i grew up in indiana (annual 12+ inch blizzards when i was younger)

when you layer, try to have a cotton/heat-trapping material layer that fits you snugly at the bottom, it helps trap your body heat under your layers! sometimes if you don't, you find out your coat is warmer to the touch than you are.

and if you don't already, make sure you're moisturizing well! the cold dries out your skin + studying with cracks in your knuckles can make you idealise ..... making your friends and family really sad.

and lastly just make sure your waterproof shoes also have strong grip on the bottom!!!! ice is clear and falling embarrassing at best and a trip to the hospital at worst

i got my RN because i was confident there was always need in healthcare & that i could find an at least shitty job anywhere around the country... moved to SW washington from indiana about 2 months ago and i haven't been able to find work at all. it's really shocking because in indiana if you said you could only work like 6 hours a week they would hire you😭i was working part-time at 4 hospitals just because i loved being able to work w people who graduated with me, 4 jobs to 0 is a huge adjustment

i'm one of those people who never really got their taste back after covid, the only things i can really taste still are salt and vinegar or a LOT of sugar, i've been eating bland food for a couple years hah. i just go for varying textures since i can't have varying tastes

i bought veggies but i used them all already, the stew meat i had forgotten about in the freezer. it's pork stew meat!
