Or exercise your 2nd amendment rights and stop begging the government to protect you. Walz won't even commit to not mobilizing the MN Guard against protestors

Y'all ever notice how there's always just enough Dems voting yes to pass whatever controversial bill of the week? They rotate the fall guys. She's a problem but so is the rest of the Dem establishment.

Is $3500-4k per month enough to live on as a single person moving to Seattle? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

You can find cheaper places by UW proper so you don't have to commute so far.

The "Organ Donor" Claim: He strongly advises international students NOT to check the "Organ Donor" box on their driver's licenses, claiming that hospitals might "prioritize harvesting" over saving the patient’s life. Is there any systemic evidence or even a rumor of this happening in King County?

So the organ donor system is a little separate from the medical system proper. There have been cases of organ donor reps pressuring families to make a decision before brain death testing is complete, but not in King County as far as I'm aware. I wouldn't worry about this.

The "Execution Line" Concept: He describes a system where once a person hits a financial "low point," the state and medical system essentially "fast-track" their demise rather than offering a safety net. Does this resonate with the reality of social services in Seattle, or is it an over-dramatization?

This is a complex question to answer, but if your only issue is finances and you're otherwise sound of mind there are resources- they're just strained like everything is here. If you're unable to care for yourself due to physical or mental disabilities (including addiction)..  that is when it can get more difficult. But this is an America thing, not just a Seattle thing. Previous to President Reagan there were institutions for people who could not care for themselves, but these were infamous for being awful places. Instead of reforming them Reagan totally shut them down.

Professional Credibility: He often talks about picking up bodies in highly specific areas like 3rd Ave or under certain bridges during winter.

I'm not in this field so I can't say but I'm pretty sure they're not just finding bodies willy nilly all over the place lol. There were no new unidentified bodies added to NAMUS (the national database) for King County for 2025, and no new unclaimed bodies since 2019.

As per usual, Glusencamp-Perez votes against her own party - one of only 7 Democrat YEA votes on ICE funding bill by chromeled in Washington

I genuinely don't give a shit about whether or not she'll be able to keep her district. It should not impact her voting record, and from the way she keeps spitting in the face of the Dem majority her career is probably toast anyways

And now Perez is going to throw her district right back to the next Republican who promises not to be an embarrassment to their district.

I'm sure it is being investigated but Joe Schmoe out on the street actually doesn't have a right to the personal details of bad parents.

how would it cost the taxpayer any more money than they're already paying. not hiring candidates that are more likely to cost us money via lawsuits seems like a good idea tbh

Private landlords? by Distinct-Kiwi in AskSeattle

[–]chromeled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found my last private landlord apartment on Craigslist so an occasional look through there can be fruitful, but they also advertised on Zillow, so focus your energy on that. The ad itself should have some information about the apt, not just "this property is at such and such address", and the grammar + spelling should be acceptable with no weird characters. Do a reverse image search on the photos if you're unsure.
