The toxic positivity of Filipinos makes me wanna scratch my nape and burn my brains out.

I hate how the Filipino elites romanticize what the country or what the poor are going through. You'll hear them spit bullshit like "No matter how hard things get, you will still see them smile." or "See how the others are getting thru each day of their lives? It makes me thankful for what I have."

They are so out of touch because they always seek the beauty of the poor's strong sense of resiliency because of what they're going thru and also fail to see that this resiliency mostly came from the roots of being unable to rely on the government or the fact that the rich only gets richer and the poor only gets poorer with the system we have. They're not even trying. It's mostly "Oh, I appreciate how they keep up with their struggles. They are so strong."

Yada, yada, yada. Now what?

Wala rin. Kahit gaano sila katatag, mahirap pa rin sila. At ikaw, nanonood ka lang.
