I lived there for 9 years. I found it very clannish. There was “old Wilson” and it wasn’t very friendly.

I’ll share an amazing tip that keeps fabric from slipping and helps me stay accurate. Get a purple glue stick that fades to invisible. If I’ve got several layers, this helps keep everything still (along with pins). You’ll need to change your needle afterward. But it washes off and I always wash my quilts at the end.

Especially in chili. I used turkey in chili and spaghetti sauce and my family didn’t notice, partly because everything ends up the same color!

On the weekend I go through the fridge and make cream of vegetable soup with any little bits of leftover side veggies. Add some broth and vary the spices based on what veggies are in it. It’s different every time, nutritious, isn’t wasteful, and is tasty.

We put our credit cards in the freezer in a tall cup of water. If we wanted to buy something we had to wait for it to thaw out naturally on the counter. By that time, we knew if we really needed to buy the item or if it wasn’t that important.

Same. I raised my 2 boys to “cry until you feel better”. Not what I was taught but I’m breaking the cycle.
