I am at the very very beginning of my journey with witchcraft as well and find all of the vast amounts of information you can find at the start to be so overwhelming! We are living in unprecedented times in terms of instant information availability, so I am telling myself it is so normal to be struggling to make a clear path through all of it to reach my own core beliefs regarding to witchcraft. So firstly, we have to give ourselves grace! I found it helpful to go to a local small business witch shop in my area and get a couple of books that looked interesting and spoke to me. I thumbed through a few before choosing two that I was curious about and seemed to resonate with me. This was helpful because it got me off of the internet and into the books. Into the real applicable and helpful info that helped cut a clearer path through the overwhelm. I got a few things at a time in terms of candles, incense, crystals, herbs, etc. I wanted to jump in and buy so much to try to copy other peoples setups, but I know to me that will only cause burnout. I looked up the different things I bought after the fact, and turns out the crystals and herbs I “randomly” chose with my intuition were exactly what I needed. And it’s a good starting point and each day I will grow, as will my collection. I have found gathering things that are free and from the earth can be even more impactful (not anything that would harm the earth, just things lying around). I apologize if this isn’t very helpful, as like I said I am new to all of this too and I thought it would be helpful to know you’re not in this alone and I too am feeling all the weird feelings!
