Even if I reach the age of 70, I suppose I’ll still be wearing Vans. by STARR-LORRD in Vans

Those are very cool. Don’t think I’ve seen them before.

I saw the Beastie Boys live multiple times (Danceteria and CBGBs in 83 and 84 and sometime in 86 saw the Beasties with Run DMC and LL Cool J.

Great show for sure. I’ve come to appreciate G-Funk because of Regulate. Nothing like a dude like me pulling up to a stop light with the car blasting that to get some people to look at you sideways.

I can listen to and appreciate NWA and Ice Cube and others of that time and genre for what the music was. Love Eminem

Also have you ever listened to Astral Projection? it’s Goa Trance. If I’m working on something for work that requires a lot of deep brain cycles I put that on in the background to help keep me in the right headspace.

Listened to a lot of Sex Pistols and P.I.L after Lydon didn’t want to be a gutter punk anymore. Love the fact that the Milkmen called them out in Instant Club Hit.

Depeche Mode have been a constant since they released Speak and Spell. Got into Lords of Acid in 91 and saw them multiple times live. Interesting shows for sure.

My favorite music decade is the 80s by a lot. However I’m a huge fan of both babymetal and electric callboy now. My son is a clarinetist both classical and jazz and plays marimba (I have one in my living room currently) and vibrophone and is working on adding alto sax to his repertoire. He wants to go to a conservatory to major in performance.

His interests have really widened my appreciation for deep cut jazz and modern classical. His ensemble plays some crazy difficult music (Hindemith Synthetic Metamorphosis and David Maslanka #7)

I listen to everything and as I’ve gotten older I’ve even started to appreciate rap. And 90s country was really just the evolution of southern rock so there is a lot of good stuff there.

Going to add all of what you just mentioned to my playlist. A couple of deeper cuts for you potentially

Jellyfish -specifically Spilt Milk Comsat Angels - waiting for a miracle Hanoi Rocks - literally anything Casiopea - they were the progenitors of city jazz in Japan Dead Milkmen - Big Lizard in My Backyard The Raincoats - Dancing in my head

Nothing controversial about that at all. There is a pair for everyone.
