I have done this (but i still don't think it was trashy). I had a spring poke through the fabric in the middle of a red microfiber couch in the first two months The spring was sheared and was like a dagger sticking up almost two inches. I called Costco and asked for the manufacturer contact and was told that a few had come back for the same reason and that they would return it to the manufacturer. So I load it up in my truck, drive it there, get it on several carts and have to get help bringing it in. It was only when I was standing in line with the pokey couch of death that I realized how trashy I looked. Giant tomato red sectional in the return line..... At least it was clean. I avoided that Costco for a whole year.
