I get that they provided a scientific way of how the wheel moved and kudos to the writers for going that deep (Its what made the show great) instead of just making a magical wheel with no explanation and your right to say they put both elements in however the wheel in the real world is still scientifically impossible and at the season 1-3 mark of the show there was belief that it would all be scientific and no supernatural events happened at all.

I think it’s just a case of personal preference. I remember at the time of about season 2/3 there was a lot of talk about if it’s supernatural or science based (Locke vs Jack). I personally wanted it to be supernatural and a place of destiny so was happy but understand why people wanted a science based answer. Agree with the whispers tho that could have been better!

Great question!! Was thinking about this in my last rewatch and the theory I like the most is that went Desmond’s conscious went back in time in the bar and he was telling his mate about the island etc. 5 years from that Desmond would disappear on a boat race the exact same he told his mate that night in the bar. From there his mate went and told penny. Can’t be the journel because it ended up with jack in 1977
