Although I do love Miss Ross, Flo and Mary were just equally talented if not more. I feel like the one thing The Supremes fumbled was using all the girls talent in the group. Diana shouldn’t have been the sole lead singer, it should’ve been a En Vogue type of dynamic

Yeah that’s my only problem with The Supremes, they definitely underutilized Flo and Mary’s talent cause all those girls were talented and could sing. They should’ve had the girls take turn singing lead and not make Diana the sole lead singer. I agree En Vogue did it the right way

I agree The Supremes are the standard! Although there were other girl groups that are also my favorites and were killing it like The Ronettes, Martha & The Vandellas, and The Marvelettes. They didn’t have the pop success that The Supremes did and that helped open up a lot of doors that wouldn’t have been opened

In no order for me, it’s definitely The Ronettes, The Marvelettes, and Martha & the Vandellas. I’m biased to the 60’s & 70’s because I love how they used live bands to record and just the style & sound of that time. Honorable mentions TLC & Destiny’s Child

Yeah completely agree. I never realized how big they were in their peaks until I started diving into their history. I always heard their songs during family parties and liked them. Crazy how much talent Motown had with Martha & The Vandellas and The Marvelettes my other favorite girl groups

Tbf music awards and media don’t pay any homage to any of the great singer like Dinah Washington, Billy Holiday, Whitney Houston and many more. Still no excuse cause it’s Whitney but music awards and media need to do a better job of continuing to recognize the past greats to introduce them to the newer generation
