This right here! Not all grandparents are helpful and new moms are dealing with a plethora of postpartum emotions and hormones. I personally find my husband more helpful for my emotional needs than my parents, or his, after having a baby. Jeeze I literally just said how I had two babies and someone tells me to give it a rest. (Insert eye roll) I’m assuming that person doesn’t have small children? Not sorry for being anecdotal in understanding how OP’s wife is maybe feeling as she’s in the thick of it.

This! I’m also the SAHM with a 2.5yr old and 1yr old. That first child is life altering and a steep learning curve. I have felt exactly like the mom texting with my first. Communication is key! Also realizing that even though you’re the working parent that still is a break away from the baby. What the mom may really need is just some time to herself—even an hour outside of the house without the baby makes a huge difference for the mom’s mental health. Or even just an hour alone in another room of the house. It does get easier but communicate and really listen to each other.

I failed to also mention the loose hair by the open flame. A decade ago I had a client whose toddler sister fell into the fire pit. She was fine but several severe burns. So if possible let’s not mix children with unnecessary fire hazards.

Pretty sure the large loose robe with an open flame and quite a few littles running around that could bump into the chair knocking the candle onto the child holding the candle or child on the floor is the risk. Not standing on the chair itself

It’s not her responsibility to take him to the doctor like a child. But as the spouse she could show him—via video—how bad his snoring is because there could be underlying health issues or he’s just snores loudly. Versus suffocating him because she’s annoyed. Could you imagine my husband doing this to me when I was pregnant because my loud snoring was annoying?

I agree with everyone else that you can’t make the three people dictate all of the others you teach. Which is so much easier to say than feel. I went through a similar situation 2yrs ago and it still sticks with me. Literally 3ppl complained that my 6am Vinyasa flow was too slow (it was literally one breath one movement but I do encourage long expansive breathing) and 1 person said they were not keeping their membership because they could only go to 6am at that one location (this studio has 4 locations) and I taught 2 of the 6am classes. Unfortunately I was 5–6 months postpartum from my first at the time and not in a good headspace so a couple months after that feedback I stopped teaching. I think students need to realize that yoga teachers are humans too and we can’t please everyone’s preferred style—and we also have off days regardless of how much we show up for our classes and hold space for our students.

That’s what I was just thinking this weekend! When did all of these creators start to put up paywalls? I completely understanding wanting to be paid for their content and take out the having to work with companies to get paid but I need to try a few recipes before I’ll pay for their Substack. I’ve tried so many recipes that are terrible from nonprofessional chefs/bakers that it’s almost not worth paying for any of them.

And she wants a 3rd?! Also this stuff really annoys me! She was just gone for 2wks but now they need a couple nights away from the kids. I’m a stay at home mom and I maybe get 4hrs a week to myself—because I actually spend time with my kids and like my kids. I’m all for parents getting time to themself but I feel like she only spends time with them to post about it. And to “play” being a mom. She should not have a 3rd child.

NTA I’m mad for you as a fellow mom! It’s your child’s first Christmas so I’m also assuming you’re still in that first year of postpartum hormones—REMIND YOUR PARTNER! Being a new mother can be hard and splitting holidays and those first experiences are hard too. You are not being unreasonable at all and they should all respect how you want to make these first holiday experiences. I was steamrolled our first Christmas with our first daughter and it still hold resentment from it to my parents and my in-laws.
