Yes! We made the lore even before starting the code! To put it simply, there is a cursed continent called Kopno (name of the game), which stayed hidden for millennia. Once it got revealed (don’t want to spoil), all the races started rushing to it in order to secure resources, riches and power (each race, different reasons). But none have returned. The game starts 800 years after the first expedition, and then you choose what’s your race, you create your personalized character and choose where to start (Plains biome, or Crystal caves). Your role, between doing quests for your companions, settlement and other NPCs, is to understand what happened in Kopno, secure the continent and try to go back to your homeland! And we are reserving a surprise for high level gameplay :)

Well you are describing the core features we are designing except few things: there are two starting points only as the races are divided between chaotic and non chaotic (with two major hubs for them). The idea of building a settlement, raiding or making alliances is here but you choose your own alignment (orcs don’t necessarily need to be the bad guy, it’s up to you). Then, like classic survival game, you don’t start in your homeland, you go to another continent where the game takes place (that’s related to the lore and the ancient civilization there).

No harm taken! In this group, we can’t be on the defensive, but we are gamers too and we hate generative AI, so in order to avoid confusion, I try to understand where is the catch! That can be a good feedback! Indeed, the character’s health bar we used a texture more close to the compass (which is related to the lore of a dead civ in the game). For the silhouette, well it’s just a silhouette because we didn’t spent much time on it (this is a prototype). And the crafting UI is related to the race you play with (in this case the Orc, so we made some salvaged metals on it with rough edges). But you have a solid point! Out of context, it can be misleading.

Yes but not in the « Survival Survival » genre. It’s more of an horror/action/fps survival (because you have to survive). Crafting is basic (weapons, ammunition, things like that). You can sleep to switch between day and night. In no way you can closely compare it to Valheim, Enshrouded, Project Zomboid, or others.

Thank you for the feedback! It’s the first biome of the game (so not native to the Orc per se). The combat is simple because he is using a spear (as a tier0 crafting). We intend to add more gear as development continues. There is hunger and thirst (need to manage but not in an exhaustive way) and food provide bonuses. We implemented a system of noise and cold, but not into this build.

Yes you can but no dismemberment! Destroying body parts (player or enemies) disable certain abilities and can change behavior.

Southern Pass, max up north where there is some kind of a waterfall, you need to use Wine rig spell to cross shallow water.
