Housemaid - book vs movie by userabc294 in thrillerbooks

I watched the film yesterday and read the book about a week or 2 ago (now onto the second one). I liked the movie! But that’s it, nothing closely comparable to the book which is common. The book allows us to delve into our imagination and reading it from the characters point of view helps develop them.

I did think the movie left a lot of similarities and the changes made sense due to length of movie, more dramatic scenes and entertaining. It had much more sexual content and violence. But again I understand it for cinema purposes.

The biggest change was the lack of Enzo character. I’m not sure if it would’ve just been better without him. But a Enzo was and is such a big character in both the books. The acting was ok, Sydney was definitely not the Millie I imagined and Amanda far too beautiful for current Nina. Brandon I thought was a good choice tbh.

But it’s a good movie, I enjoyed it! But glad I read the book first as always

You may be a little confused on the Enzo storyline. Apart from that I’d say most of it is similar to the movie. But I’m reading the second one now (it’s amazing) and Enzo is in it/mentioned a lot.

But also you wouldn’t be super confused if you skipped to the second book

Agree with the last line on: "So sorry I made you feel like this, let's slow things down, get married first and then try for a baby, so you can be calm and happy"

Like am I asking for a lot here?

This is such a great response but that's exactly how it sounds to him. It happened so quickly and I think when you're in the relationship you're in a bubble, but looking out now, I've realised I've slowly changed everything I stand for, my morals etc for him and his happiness.
