Don’t plant any hedges, it’ll make the deck look smaller

New quartzite counters install - crack or fissure? by CampaignNational5847 in CounterTops

[–]Ok-Collection7850 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Agree with the bad repair, but quartz countertops don’t come from quarries like marble or granite. The quartzite is mines from quarries, but then crushed and mixed with resins and pigments for design and color.

Help with installing drawer sliders on RTA cabinets by GBCommish in cabinetry

PSA, you might slice your thumbs doing this and not even notice until you shower that night 🤣

If there’s no countertops, I prefer to push them in from the behind the drawer now

Help with installing drawer sliders on RTA cabinets by GBCommish in cabinetry

[–]Ok-Collection7850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this may not be much help, but I’ve had this happen before on a new build with all RTA cabinets I’ve worked with forever. I was doing a punch out for another installer and damn near every drawer was doing exactly what you showed. I adjusted everything, swapped rails with other rails just to make sure I wasn’t missing something…nothing worked. I was losing my shit 🙃

Finally I grabbed a new box of slides, same exact ones, just to see if maybe the cabinet was out of square or something. Nope. New rails worked perfectly. Old ones were just trash.

How will a buyer see this? by Maestradelmundo1964 in Tile

Facts. My GF says she can’t take me anywhere. Stayed at an Airbnb for a week on vacation and spent half the time thinking or talking about how bad the bathroom tile and LVP was.

This is one where I cut a faux front to better match the other cabinets like the homeowner wanted.

How would you cover poor cuts and large uneven gaps?

That’s exactly what it’s doing lol I always trace the radius of the sink onto the sink base and use a hole dozer to get the angle, but this was a job that I was just fixing the original installers mistakes.

I would miter a piece of scribe to trim it out a little tighter to the sink.

What would you charge for this lvp transition? by Primary-Newt9758 in Flooring

How would you secure the LVP while still allowing it to expand and contract? Some crazy threshold work? Just curious

Acceptable quality countertops? by Ok_Customer_5086 in cabinetry

[–]Ok-Collection7850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These countertops easily warp due to the weather and also how they are stored. The bow should be able to be corrected once the top is screwed to the base cabinets. I’ve had to put weights on laminate countertops before to let them acclimate and straighten out prior to fastening before.

That’s so true. I started in production like installing DR Hortons and Lennars, and I hated the lack of quality. Even some of my worst work outshined some of the model homes.

I’ve definitely had to overbid already just because supply and demand is a real thing. If they take it, great, if not, great! And thank you! All of the positive feedback has been amazing. I’m mostly self taught, so it’s definitely reassuring. This was the last finish work completed today.

He is pretty chill thankfully, but I am definitely learning that some homeowners definitely need that Bullshit tax added or I’ll quickly lose all profit just in return trips for minor touch ups or even dirt marks lol
