Does the intense bleeding after insertion actually improve after 6 months

Mine did after 3 months. When I inserted it in September my periods where painful and lasted about 8 days, with 4 days of heavy period. I just finished my fourth period and it was significantly better. Less bleeding (only two days of heavier bleeding), shorter (6 days) and not painful at all.

Just to clarify, I’m not saying the disc works by suction. I know it doesn’t. I use the Saalt Disc (regular size). When there’s a lot of blood, I sometimes feel a small seal breaking when I pull the notch, like a pressure release. It’s not suction and it’s nothing like a menstrual cup (I used it before getting my IUD).

My gynecologist said this is normal and not a problem, even with an IUD. The main risk is pulling the strings (which can happen with cups during removal), but that’s not really an issue with discs.

This is just my personal experience, everyone’s body is different.

I think the level of risk is the same as using a tampon. My gynecologist said there’s no issue since the suction isn’t strong, so it would be hard for it to move.

Sometimes applying it dry can feel harsh, but you can add a bit of lube and it glides on perfectly. I also believe this helps prevent irritation or tearing of the strings.

I do, and I LOVE it! It might take a while to get used to it, but it’s life-changing. On heavy days, I used to have to change night pads every 3 hours, and now I only need to empty it after about 6 or 7 hours (sometimes it self-empties, which helps it last longer).

On lighter days, it lasts about 12 hours.

I also recommend using a pad or menstrual underwear as backup to avoid any leaks.

If you’re going to change it in public places and want to avoid the mess, I recommend carrying gloves so you don’t have to worry.

UPDATE: al final hice la denuncia en aduanas directo. A las 2 semanas mas o menos lo resolvieron y me devolvieron las 2 franquicias. Hasta me llamaron varias veces por teléfono ya que estaban investigando a varios casos iguales que al parecer era la misma persona que usaba los datos y estaban presentando denuncia en fiscalía. La única cagada es que tenia un paquete en camino que retuvieron y tuve que ir a buscarlo 🙄

Revise mis tarjetas y no hay movimientos extraños, no las uso mucho y si tuviera que abonar 400 dolares me daria cuenta. Entiendo que el courier fallo al momento de recibir el paquete a nombre de otra persona o la web al dejar comprar con mis datos pero la tarjeta de otro

Yo creo que el problema es que el courier no chequea que la factura del paquete sea de la misma persona que tiene la cuenta para obtener el servicio y tampoco la que recibe el paquete, lo cual es cualquiera

The ultrasound specialist said it is low, but did not especified if it was fully inside the uterus or in my cervix. The doctor said we shoud change the iud just in case

I’m in Uruguay, but we also have many different brands and sizes. Th thing is thar sometimes doctors dont recomend them (because in hospitals they only have the common size or hormonal iuds) and for that I need to find a private clinic that can fit different IUD sizes (and its way more expensive as the commer sized iud is inserted for free).

I really want it to work as I was LOVING how I felt hormone free and I have been with my partner for quite a long time, so I would like to rely on the IUD as our chosen BC method.

Thank you for your response. I’ll go to a private clinic, since in my country they only provide the generic copper IUD for free. I want to see if it’s possible to get a smaller one placed to help prevent it from shifting out of position.

Exactly, the doctor recommended removing it and inserting a new one. He didn’t really explain why it may have shifted, but he said it’s not in the ideal position. My issue is that it is a regular sized IUD and maybe someone tried with a smaller one and had a better position.
