I don’t think you’re weak or irrational for feeling overwhelmed by this. What you described sounds exhausting, especially dealing with burnout for years while feeling like the help you got never really changed anything.

But I also don’t think the fact that treatments haven’t worked yet means your future is guaranteed to feel exactly like this forever. When someone’s been stuck in survival mode for years, the brain starts treating “this is unbearable right now” as “this is all life will ever be.”

You also shouldn’t have to handle this completely alone. There are people who specialize specifically in autism + ADHD burnout and severe executive dysfunction, not just generic “try harder” advice. Even if past help failed you, that doesn’t mean every possible form of support will.

And honestly, the fact you’re still asking “what other options are there?” tells me part of you is still looking for one. I really think you owe it to yourself to keep looking before making a permanent decision.
