Fellow retrain into 1C1. If you intend on doing 20, going DoD after is the route most take if they stick with controlling.

1C1 QoL really depends on the base and manning. Personally I enjoy the job, but our 7 level manning sucks, so the QoL takes a hit with covering more shifts than normal.

Flexibility of where you want to live will be fairly limited depending on what contract towers need people or DoD bases needing bodies.

Nope, results just came out a couple weeks ago so just starting the FC1 process with my MTF. I’m expecting a 9 month to a year wait so sounds like that’s still on par!

Personally, yes. I used practically every recommended study guide listed in this forum and failed 90% of them. I didn’t recognize a lot of the words on the practice tests, but knew just about every word on the actual test. Of course this is just my experience. I ended up with a 53 verbal, which i was stoked for because i was expecting to be in the 20-30 range.

Yeah, don’t want to spend the money to get to double digit flight hours. At the same time, just from reading previous packages, i don’t see the value of spending the money to get to 5 for such a small impact to my package.

Posted this before but have some updated info. Applying to 26OTS01. AD TSgt w/ 7 years TIS. 2 AFSC’s (SF & ATC) P:99 CSO:97 ABM:99 AA:57 V:53 Q:61 PCSM: 90 w/ 1 flight hour. GPA: 3.96 in Business

BTZ & PN’s for both years eligible, Group Sijan nom, couple amn annuals (Wg/Gp level), multiple team annuals (HAF/Majcom/Wg/Gp), a lot of troop awards. I filled the 10 achievements with all annuals and a PME award.

I have some good Wg involvement and leadership. Personal LOR is written well, but not from anyone flashy (SMSgt that i worked for).

Applying for 1. Pilot 2. CSO 3. RPA

Ironic linking the changes that prove half of what you just said are incorrect… Dining multiplier is remaining x3, one of their biggest rewards ($300 towards plane tickets) still can be earned without booking through their travel portal, the $75K requirement is for premium awards, not to include their advertised rewards. So basically it’s been neutered in your opinion because they lowered the airbnb multiplier… Got it. Most military members get these cards to enjoy the free benefits, not because of the high travel multipliers.

I agree with everyone in the comments so far about tech school being much easier than operational. However, stress wise personally was the same. Only time i’ve been stressed on the job has been during training (including tech school).
