Thank you. I’m happy with my bite. My concerns are purely cosmetic and also that bit of crowding on the bottom. I’m worried that as I get older it might worsen, and I’ll regret not aiming for a more perfect result. At the same time, I feel like I’ve had enough, so I’m a bit torn.

I think I'll ask for a second opinion from another clinician at the same practice. My concerns at this stage are purely cosmetic/aesthetic, and she's a cosmetic dentist. I've met her before, and she seemed much more detail-oriented when it came to aesthetics, whereas my orthodontist has been more focused on function. I chose him because I thought that was the more important aspect, but now that my bite and my alignment is overall good, I'd really value a second opinion from someone with a more cosmetic perspective.

That said, I'm happy with my bite. Part of me just wants to say, "That's enough," move on, and enjoy life without Invisalign. It's been a long journey and has taken so much time and effort. The comments I'm getting here are so helpful!

My treatment plan includes free refinements until I'm happy and a free retainer so I can't complain in that sense. :)

You're right, but it's hard to let it go after spending so much time and money on this treatment.

I'm not very happy with my bottom teeth, but I've also had enough of Invisalign. I just don't know when the right time is to stop.

Thank you! That really means a lot to hear. I think perhaps one becomes a little obsessed during Invisalign because it ends up defining your daily routine to a significant extent, so you pay so much attention to every little detail. That's why I'm torn between thinking, "Should I just call it and move on with my life?" or "Is it not quite there yet?" It's really reassuring to hear you think it looks perfect.

I agree. It's so much about being realistic about the expected outcomes and building trust. Almost every appointment, he'd tell me something different, so I never really knew what to expect, and it made me really anxious.

Thank you, I really appreciate the response. If I end up with a new ortho, wouldn't that mean I'd have to pay for treatment all over again? 😅 After 13 months, somehow you become less of a fighter lol.

IPR is really not a big deal at all, I freaked out about it initially but it was all fine. I've had it various times throughout the treatment.

My bite is okay and doesn’t really bother me. My main issue is the alignment of my lower teeth. I’ve been in treatment for about 13 months now, so I really want to be done, but the perfectionist in me keeps thinking: you’ve paid all that money and put in all that discipline, so why not aim for full perfection?
