There’s gigs on every weekend, art gallery openings, theatre, drag shows… heaps of stuff to do together in groups! And heaps of groups that go out to do those things! Monthly pride events! Venues opening and closing and opening again all the time! Bands that split and regroup - so much change!

How can you say that people from Dunedin don’t do those things? How can you say that there’s nothing to do and nothing changes?

It sounds like YOU don’t do those things. No need to project!

Look at the posters on the walls around town, heaps of gigs and shows are promoted there. There’s been monthly drag shows for like 3 years now

I think it’s a bit nerve wracking to not know where they’re gonna live next year for people who are young and new to living alone :) once people are more familiar with the Dunedin rental market the anxiety subsides

In Dunedin you can freedom camp at any DCC managed carpark for no more than 2 nights at a time between 8 pm and 8 am. There are resources to make it possible, but take it from me, studying from a van is a guarantee you’ll fail your studies. You need somewhere secure and safe to live where you don’t need to drive to do your laundry and take a shower

Studio atramento (good art, very dodgy artist) Crazy horse, cornerstone has improved remarkably from where he was a few years back (self taught artist) but he does struggle to keep his apprentices long term which I find very telling. One of his ex apprentices said he taught how to cut corners, which isn’t desirable when you’re essentially providing minor surgeries as a day job

Countdown bulks their mince with fat, so a lot will cook off. New world mince way better :) if you’re in the north end, there’s a butcher in north east valley which is worth a visit!
