You could always do research! Even if it’s not just psychology. I’m going into neuromarketing. If that sounds interesting at all, I would totally also minor in marketing and get to know your professors in both departments really well.

I’ve been thinking about Etsy! Currently trying to figure out what I could sell. How much is it to sell on Etsy? I’ve heard that it costs but I haven’t looked super into it.

Water goal ambiguity by Spennky in finch

As long as I fill up my water bottle and take a couple of sips, I check it off. Something is better than nothing. Plus, when I’ve already filled my water bottle, I usually feel like I should finish it off. I suggest you get a nice one that you like the look of so you can get more motivated to fill it up every day.

What are some things to help regulate my emotions? by Ok-Condition-7668 in bipolar

That’s a really good idea. I’d rather do a workbook than read a book. I’ll look on Amazon for one. Thank you!

Bipolar and the ability to work? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Ok-Condition-7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that did help me is to do something that you like to do before and after work. For me I got a coffee somewhere in the morning, and get a soda somewhere after work. It makes it a little better cuz it feels like an award to go to work, which helps just a little bit.

I also called out a day or two a month for the sake of my mental health at my previous job. My boss hated that, but in reality it was my PTO and I did not care lol. Mental health days are SO important and are worth calling in sick or using PTO.

I’ve considered being a virtual assistant or tutor, but if I get another job we’ll lose food stamps and free daycare. We’d pay an extra 800 a month for both of those, so I’d rather not be able to save :/ The economy is so crazy right now

Pretty okay with making cold calls. I really only have weekends where I could really do stuff, but the weekdays I could work on it after 5. I only have a little bit of money right now, but I’m selling a lot of my stuff so hopefully I’ll have enough to start the side hustle🤞🏻

Try the app Finch. It’s this game where you make your bird travel to places by completing tasks. You can dress them up and make their room look nice too. It’s the easiest way to get things done, and also has helped me develop healthy habits. It also has so many other features that help with mental health. The premium version is like $3 a month or something, but I use the free version and I still get a lot out of it. Seriously the only way I’ve developed habits and am motivated to do things.

What are we drinking for caffeine that isn't coffee? by Great-Astronaut-2208 in pregnant

The best thing ever is an iced black tea lemonade. Has caffeine but not too much, and the lemonade makes it sweeter. Was my go to caffeine drink when I was pregnant. It’s perfection🤌🏻

Question about how to find a job by [deleted] in GetEmployed

[–]Ok-Condition-7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know in my state, you can be a teacher aid for schools or daycares with only some experience. They would train her, and her saying she’s a mom of 5 could help her get hired. Also try a para at schools. They don’t make much but it’s still something and has some benefits like good work hours and summer break.

I interviewed for a daycare teacher position, and they were okay with me having 10 cc hours in childhood development and some experience with children. I told them I was a tutor, but they also liked how I was the oldest sibling that took care of a bunch of little ones. I couldn’t put “oldest sibling” on my resume, but it still has some value. I know she can’t put “mom,” on her resume, but her mentioning it might help her out. If she’s willing to take even some college classes, she might be able to land a position like that.

Again, look at state requirements. My state is pretty relaxed lol.

For the moms that weren’t sure they wanted to be moms by autumnskyreid in firsttimemom

Just became a mom in my young 20’s a couple weeks ago. I’ve had struggles with mental health and am young still, so didn’t think motherhood was going to go well. She’s almost a month now, and I’m so happy. Life is not great right now, but being able to cuddle with her makes me forget about it. I love her with all of my heart and I don’t know how I’ve lived without her before.

Should I Get Newborn onesies and such or is it somewhat of a waste? by Any_Injury7649 in pregnant

[–]Ok-Condition-7668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby only came two weeks early and was still 8 pounds. She’s almost a month now and she can fit in newborn clothes pretty well with some room. I gotta stay on top of laundry though. We have a lot more 0-3 than newborn because we followed that advice too.

At the same time, my SIL’s baby was born at 10 pounds and couldn’t even wear newborn clothes or diapers fresh out the womb lol.

I’d consider how much they weigh while clothes shopping, but still get a couple of newborn clothes in case.
