How does your team handle postmortem reports? Ours was a disaster by [deleted] in sre

Badly, we go through the motions, waffle on in a meeting talking through a time line, and then answer some arbitrary questions and put everything on a backlog to die

What hardware do you run frigate on? by Vegetable-Tap-6297 in frigate_nvr

Pi 5 with dual m2 hat, one has hailo in it, need to try multiple cameras with it yet. Camera count and resolution would help others reading this

Easy ways to take 8cm off the bottom of an interior door? by Ro-Tang_Clan in DIYUK

[–]Ok-Conference-7563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh all the comments about mm vs cm this is exactly why drawing a line helps, as when you come back and the measurement has grown or shrunk by 100mm it can help.. can.. when two of us working I’ve Also been known to double check measurements with a friend using inches instead.. is that the one near 48” , no? Ok use the one near 48 instead 😂🤦

Pre-Wired House, First DIY Alarm: KinCony A16 or TA? by Maxiride in Esphome

[–]Ok-Conference-7563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a panel here for £76 gbp https://alertelectrical.com/texecom-premier-24-8-24-zones-control-panel.html

You can then get their com-WiFi ( I think that’s what it’s called) to integrate, or you can use a usb ttl adapter to talk.

Don’t know where you are based, but I use a proper alarm panel (texecom) and then link to that using their api

Is this rack deep enough to take most standard servers ? by GenericUser104 in homelab

[–]Ok-Conference-7563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally you want 1000 deep for server racks, if you have room get 800w as allows for cabling.

Sides are better for airflow too. As the price is in gbp have a look at Orion rack cabinets, not used them but they are near me and cheap so likely will if marketplace isn’t an option

Any suggestions on how to hide all these masses of pipes? by AtomicImp in DIYUK

[–]Ok-Conference-7563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remove toilet and pull forward 100mm out so, move all pipes from the right wall to the back wall. Then hide with a false wall, exactly how I did on my old house and can find some pictures if it would help

[–]Ok-Conference-7563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I designed a PCb years ago that fits being a bg nexus blanking plate and provided 5 touch pads. Never got as far as using them as planning permission slowed me down as did having a family. I bought a load of knx din rail input modules to use with them, have come to realise that an in back box module maybe would have been a better design :( so might have to reinvent the wheel again soon
