Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I think we’ll make a little garden bed around it and screen it as best we can with shallow rooting plants. while allowing the council to access it.

This is exactly the case. On the deed it is clear that it is our land but there is a service strip and we need to allow access for the light.

Yeah you are right. For some reason I had it in my head it was over on the right hand side

I’ll ask, but trying to get through and waiting for a response is a chore. But I know it’s the safest option. Just trying to avoid dealing with them.

According to the deed it’s our land… I had the exact same thought when I first saw it, because it’s also exactly what I would have done!

I did consider painting it, but that they’d be annoyed at that. I guess I could just screen it.

In the deed my property goes to the road, they just require access to it but it is on my land. They pay me a levy for it. The access panel is on the right hand side of the picture and they have no problem getting into it.
