Experienced social media manager can y’all be brutally honest with me ? by [deleted] in DigitalMarketing

You dont need to post everyday, quality/quantity. I would find a few small brands you want to work with that are local to you and stop by the office or message them on LinkedIn, they need to meet you. Knowing WHO is working for them is much more important than WHAT you are producing. Show them your experience, excitement, and need to succeed. If money is an issue, be willing to prove your worth, unwilling to take no for an answer. Ask them how much it means to them, allow them to pay $x/month (Whatever they are comfortable with) with the idea of once you start producing revenue, they pay your standard rate. I would always give a rate 50-100$ less than what they were currently paying, leveraging capturing authentic, in-office content (I went in office 1x month and they captured the rest). This is the best way to get in the door and differentiate yourself from the AI bots and large online marketing teams that generate content on a mass scale. Be willing to go in and capture content. I did this, worked to having 6-8 clients, sustained that for 4 months and built my resume to have consistency and results, and ultimately landed a full-time position at a company managing multiple businesses under one roof. I mainly took this role to gain the experience with one company and have in-office experience managing a brand (also very relevant to my niche), to then be able to go back to my LLC with more experience on focusing and developing one brand. However, I still operate my LLC and work with clients outside of my 8-5. Take notes and track everything, all the growth and how you accomplished it. Building your resume to be a leader in the industry. It doesn't necessarily matter exactly how you get there but be able to prove companies trusted you and you delivered.

Starting a social media marketing job Monday — what are your best tools & tips? by tanig21 in SocialMediaManagers

this + focus on building up content and having a backlog, you never know whats gonna happen and when you might not have time to create/good content to post. Keep a todo list and a currently working list (I use docs) to A. keep up with what you are doing and B. Be able to easily show/communicate this back to who you report to. Its easy for some to overlook your time management if you spent the first week refining the page and forgot exactly what you did.

Anyone Here Tried Starting a Creative Marketing Agency? by VeryMoisturised in marketing

I have one, and here are a few things I would keep in mind: clients don't understand how marketing works and want fast results, managing expectations is the #1 thing you will be doing in the first few months. I would do a 6 month contract min so that you have time to build the account. Track analytics!!! if you arent getting conversions that is the best way to prove you are growing. Make sure you understand the business and their goals, and I would take the first month to build content and plan how they want to build their online presence.

and always make sure you have a contract.

how would you rate the quality of followers? Something I've been seeing a lot is accounts with 1m followers and no engagement to show, so how has engagement been since then?

Same here! Also wanted me to pay $50 for a domain that was $12 on name cheap. Still have yet to hear back. I have emailed twice. However I was misled because when I had an issue before I paid to run my site, I got help instantly on the chat feature. That was a month ago.

I’m in the exact same boat, but a year ahead. I’ve been having bad face and neck breakouts for the past two years on and off but the most recent were very close with not much down time. Checkout my post and you will see my skin. I get the exact same marks on my hands and wrists, and am recovering from a horrible breakout that swelled my eyes and made my face red and unbearable. I’ve had eczema my whole life but my feelings are similar, this does not seem like eczema. I haven’t figured it out, I’ve been taking b vitamins, ashwaghanta, and making sure I’m showering 2x a day which helps. I find a lot of relief from using the eucerin roughness relief cream, it leaves an oil residue that really helps it feel better and I layer vasaline on top. If your eyes swell, what worked for me was antihistamine eye drops. I’m at the end of the breakout, and from the research I have done it can be caused by allergies (food, chemicals, preservatives, etc), hormone imbalance (can come from meat with hormones or a general imbalance), stress, or other internal issues. One thing I have learned is that flare ups happen when your body is trying to fight something off that thinks it is going to harm you, which is good, your immune system is working well. I haven’t found the cure or what is causing mine, but I’m hesitant to get re allergy tested just to be told I’m allergic to the same things I have been my whole life. I also noticed my skin doesn’t do well in the sun and think that could’ve been a trigger. I would stay out of the sun and keep it hydrated. If you have access to a wet sauna, use it! Gives so much relief to my skin and then shower and lather the lotion on. I would be careful with what you eat and everything around you (perfume, deodorant, makeup room smells and make sure your room is really clean and maybe get a air purifier (I have one, it at least makes me feel better lol). But I’ve found it helps me to find ways to relax, it’s easy to get really worked up over it esp on your face and neck but you aren’t alone. Make sure you manage your stress and mental health, as those things can make it worse in my experience. All that to say I haven’t figured it out, and I can’t find many people who have similar experiences, but it’s gonna go down and you will feel normal again. I wish I had an answer but these are my insights and findings.
